Punting was the right thing to do

I looked at this game like the playoffs were on the line. If the playoffs are on the line I go for it if it is my call. I don't give up the ball when my secondary can't cover at least half of the field. That said I understand the punt decision but it sure leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I see them throw a 60 yard pass from the one yard line when I have two defensive backs right there.

then what happened wise sage?

You asked how the punt turned out....if that's not what you meant maybe you should rephrase your question perhaps. Like I said the punt team did it's job noob. The punt had nothing to do with the end result...

This conservative mindset is what got us to 2-14.

Have you seen Matt Ryan in the two-minute offense before?

Did you see the repeated individual breakdowns in the secondary throughout the day?

You play to win the game, not lose it. That's what Fox did, and that's what will get you mediocre results.

4th and 1 with Cam, Stew, Tolbert... You put your foot on their throat and stomp em out.

I knew if we gave them the ball back, they were going to get the FG. I KNEW IT. If you go for it on 4th and miss, they have the dilemma of not leaving too much time on the clock while trying to get in FG range. It most likely would've left us a few more seconds... Stupid, gutless decision.

thank you. finally somebody with some damn sense. The rest of these fools are sticking to the results that got us the L

I would have been fine with either decision to be honest. If our giant QB can't lean forward for a yard with the game on the line, we don't deserve to win. Likewise if our defense can't keep them from scoring when they are pinned on the ONE YARD LINE with about a fuging minute left, we deserve to lose.

Having said that, I was screaming (with all caps) into game chat to go for it. By going for it you dictate the end of the game on your terms. You make ONE play it's game over. By punting you have to rely on the defense to make MULTIPLE plays to win the game. Subsequently we did neither and we fuging lost.

here is a fact: Punting was not the right thing to do. on paper? in John foxes mind? sure? but WE FUGGING LOST!!!!!!!!!!!! so are you still telling me that it was the right thing to do???????????????????? because if we go for it at least there is a CHANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that we convert that one lil yard and fugging WIN!!! but by punting WE LOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so let me ask you this say you can take home a fine chick from the bar, and one beside her is slightly better looking, bigger asz or whatever so you take the better one and she give you AIDS!!! are you gonna wake up and say....picking the slightly hotter one was the thing to do?????????????????????? FUG YU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

are you inhaling autism?

a poo defense that had 7 sacks, 12 QB its, 7 passes defended, and an INT to top it off? If there was a fuging game to have some sort of confidence in our defense, this was it.

Score board

I called the end result as soon as I saw the punt team..

Same here

Since everyone is playing psychic here and knows what would have happened even though it didn't, I'll do it also. if we went for it there and got it we would have botched the handoff in the victory formation and the Falcons would have scooped it up.

Schiano would see the highlight of that and ejaculate all over the field in the middle of his game against the Redskins. The TV cameras would record all of it leading to massive outrage from TV audeinces, forcing the FCC to ban football from television completely.

See, we really made the right decision not just for us, but for every NFL fan.

the decision to punt, how old are you? your post to pie is shamefull

Oh noez I don't have enough e-rep whatever will I do!!! The decision to punt was fine, we pinned them inside the one having to drive 65 yards with zero timeouts and around 1:30 to go. The execution on defense cost us big time. If you think the execution on defense is at all related to the decision to punt then it's you who may be too young for this forum....
