A Fair Look At Cam...

I think I agree with the gist of this article in every respect. Folks need to back off Cam a bit and let him grow into his job. I sure as heck would rather have him than anyone almost anyone else I can think of. Here's a link to the Yahoo! story:

I know I am in the minority, but I feel Cam's few mistakes (fumble, not hurrying up and failing to run the play before a review flag is thrown) and his corny touchdown celebrations stem from the same thing... immaturity.

Good news is time will most likely fix the issue.

I worry that we are not the right environment to "fix" Cams immaturity. We need strong leadership on the sideline which I do not think we have seen consistently from our current group of coaches. If he was on an established franchise with a proven track record of developing young players I would pencil him in for the hall of fame. But I think if anyone can ruin Cam it's us.

Its obvious he mentally prepares himself for his touchdown celebrations, probably even practices them.

Might be time better spent figuring out some of the important small nuances of the game, such as hurry up and even spike the ball if you have to on an obvious blown call on a 3rd down that went your way.

So.... how many other QB's are asked to be running backs as well, in this league? He is a hybrid and a damn good one i might add. He is asked to subject himself to hits normally reserved for RB's. Backs/WR's/TE's, celebrate thier efforts ALL the time. You people who bitch about the kid celebrating have an agenda. It's sickening, TBH. The fumble( failing to cover up the ball, in the event your sorry ass linemen get blown the fug up) and not snapping the ball, when Olsen told him that Smitty didn't get the foot down are SECOND YEAR QB ISSUES.

Watch as he ignores his teammates, in order to celebrate the greatness that is Cam. Never mind the scoreboard. We are talking about advancing a brand here, people.

Looks like Tolbert is smiling and enjoying the dance. Gross had just given his congratulations. Go crawl back into a hole you fuging tool. I'd be willing to bet that you're PFFL, by the way.

    • Through 2 games cltfc has 12 shot attempts. Opponents 23 shots on target. Attack sucks, Defense definitely sucks. Kahlina is the only reason they haven't given up 14 goals in two games.
    • I met a few times--never liked him. I figured he might have had a bad day--but then realized that he must have a lot of bad days. Once he raised his voice at my son because my son did not understand a question when SS was signing his jersey.  I wanted the jersey to represent his encounter with a Panther great, not some small man with a bad attitude.  I told me son, "Forget it.  He was asking you what your name is (My son was about 7 and told me that he thought Smitty was going to write (my son's) name on the jersey.  He said "Dad, I thought he was supposed to write HIS name on the jersey, not mine."  I said, "He was personalizing it, writing it to you--like a birthday card."  He is now grown, and he has a steve smith Jersey that is framed and matted.  He keeps it is his closet.  I asked him, "Why not have that out on your wall?"  He said, "All I remember is an A-hole scribbled on my shirt.  I don't remember a legend or hero.  But he had a Jake Delhomme Jersey on his wall.  "Jake was great.  I will always remember that."  (Jake stayed and talked to us for about 5 minutes or more--GREAT guy.)
    • Is it possible for someone to regress in maturity as they age or has Steve really just been a jerk his entire life?
