Issue isn't Cam

Brees and Rivers are smart. They're not coming out with a new clothing line while their team is 1-4, nor do they have attitude problems, nor do they throw the ball at the ground with a wide open tight end in the endzone with the game on the line.

Go root for Brees and Rivers teams, I assure you they'll never QB in Carolina. This is Cam's team.

I would definitely agree that it is not all Cam's fault this season. I can't stand all these columnists starting to compare him to Vince Young already. I like this response I just read directed at SI.com's comparison of Cam and Vince.

Brees and Ryan are NFL vets. Brees took years and Ryan is finally becoming an elite QB after 4 years as well. Cam's career is still very young. But we need the right coaches in place to help him along the way. I'm not sure Rivera is the leader Cam needs.

Brees and Ryan might have struggle at times when they first started out. But they never struggle no where near this bad. Problem with Cam is that going back to the bench and putting on that dam towel over his crap is getting old. Cam ain't MJ and never will be. Someone needs to tell Cam that the HoneyMoon is over and it is time to get serious. Cam needs to get rid of the dam towel get his ass off that bench and go to a coach on the sideline after every bad drive and grab the photos and look over them and make changes. Then he needs to get with his offense and talk with and make some changes. Cam is never going to become a true leader of this team unless he stops putting the towel on his head and just waiting for the next drive to happen. It is time for Cam to take a leadship role on this offense or move on down the line. Been young excuses is getting old and it time for him to show some balls now. Did Peyton or Eli ever sit on the sidelines with a towel on their head after every bad drive. No you didn't. You always see Peyton and Eli looking at Photos with the coach on the sideline trying to get things right for the next drive. The is both of them are winning SB rings and all. If Cam wants to win, then he better get his act together and start been a leader on the offense instead of been a douche bag with a towel over his head all game long.

Cam sucks at the short to mid passing game.

He doesn't make quick decisions often.

These are the same problems he had as a rookie, that were overlooked cause he was a rookie.

It's hurting us more now.

But let us blame to coaches. Let us blame hurney, cause heaven forbids us from holding our players accountable for execution, or anything, unless their name is d. Williams, captain, and beason.

Look at All 22 film. Our offense runs a lot of deep routes. We always run out of shotgun. Newton doesn't have many short options. We hardly even run screens anymore.

Newton looked horrific in the Seattle game (keep in mind this against maybe the best D in the NFL, second to SF at worst). But he certainly hasn't gotten much help.

Yeah, let's hold Cam accountable for not being able to carry a team on his back routinely like a 10 yr vet future HOFer is successfully able to.....

That makes sense.

You said Cam should be blamed....

I am saying he should. But his issues aren't why we suck. We suck bc we have asked a kid to be our team from his first NFL start forward....

He should get some blame....but why we suck has little to do with Cam. Overall, what he has brought to the table is more than a lot of teams get from the position since he arrived.....our coaches and supporting cast our much bigger issues.

Maybe i am wrong but i find Rivera a litle shy, he is not pushing, rallying his team, he seems to be watching the game.

In another thread i sayed "if cam give up the whole team will give up", let me correct myself, if Rivera give up, Cam will give up and the whole team will give up.

Jon Gruden is an impetuous coach, he can rally a demoralized team.

Cam had a bad game Sunday. But to pin this season's disaster on him is moronic. From last year...Cam has gotten worse. Williams has gotten worse. Stewart has gotten worse. The offensive line has gotten worse. The entire offense has gotten worse. That's obviously a coaching failure. There's no reason this team should be as bad as it is, with arguably more talent than it had last year. Did anybody look at the game Sunday and think Seattle had more talent than us? Of course not. And yet we lost again, and looked confused in doing so. That's what's so frustrating. We should be better than we are.
