Have you had a concussion before? My old lady wants me to see a Dr I told her no not much they could do.

How it happened you ask well my dumbass got up quick and turned around and slammed the side of my head on a wooden shelf in this small closet area this is the only 2nd time in my life I have seen stars like that, I have this huge knot/cut on the side of my head and I keep getting terrible headaches this happened yesterday.

. I feel like a real NFL player.

I've had a few. I was a small-time pro wrestler for 5 years and concussions are inevitable.

If it's been over 24 hours and you're still having headaches, you should probably go see a doctor.

There may not be a lot they can do to fix it, but you may have done more damage than you realize. A doctor will likely run some rudimentary tests (follow my finger with your eyes, look into the light to test pupil dilation, etc.) to make sure you don't need further medical attention. Supposing that comes out clear, they'll just send you home and tell you to take it easy.

Just out of curiosity, have you thrown up or had any issues with speech, motor skills, or any other irregular symptoms?

I've had two - I lost consciousness on the first one, but the second one was worse. My friends thought I was gonna die on the spot. It's true there's not a whole lot doctors can do, but there are some things you can do. For one, get off the computer or phone... don't try to read at all for a few days.

Ive never had one headache in my life and I can slam my head on anything as hard as I possibly can and not feel any pain or have side effects. Either I'm a super hero or I have a serious problem

attempt a backwards somersault and land flush on the back of your head. that'll do it.

I've had quite a few.

I think that some folks are just more prone to them than others.

Trying to take it easy now, just not worth it.

Lot's of them playing football, a few more snowboarding, a couple wake boarding, and the worst was a fall off of a ladder and I hit my head on a window sill on the way down. Knocked out for at least 15-20 minutes. Couldn't remember what I was doing or where I was.

I've had one pretty serious concussion. It was raining and I was running from outside into my garage. I was wearing cheap flops and when I hit the concrete floor I slid and fell backwards. The back of my head slammed on the concrete floor. When I came to everything was in slow motion. I had a semi paralysis thing going on where I couldn't gain control of my body. Similar you when you are very drunk while trying to get up off the ground. I remember just laying there with my arms and legs randomly moving in all the wrong directions. It affected my speech, thinking and reasoning. I would think one thing but when I would try to say it, it would come out all wrong. Sometimes I would forget where I was going or how I got there. It took a good 6 months to recover from it.

I was like that for a while after my second. I sometimes still have episodes where I talk like a stroke patient. My short term memory went from bad to that fish on Finding Nemo. If I don't write it down, it's probably not getting done later. And I can't remember names now to save my life. I can usually remember faces, but I have to fake the funk remembering who a person is. I feel like a dick asking someone their name after knowing them for several weeks.

Been knocked out twice...once due to an on-field collision playing soccer (13-14). I immediately went down...woke up and buddies standing over me. Collided so hard the eyebrow muscle split and they had to open me up and sew the muscle...then the outside. 35 microstitches.

Second was car wreck...no seat belt (17yo). I glanced off the steering column and hit the windshield with my jaw. Broke the windshield. I "woke up" and walked the rest of the way home. Both instances I should've gotten an evaluation, but this was the early-mid 80s. I have short term memory issues at times. Migraines from time to time, but I associated them with seasonal allergy issues.

I've done stupid things where I take a shot now and then where I see stars from time to time, but I have to just sit and sometimes lie down. Either way...if you get knocked to the point your brain rattles around and decides to shut you down for a bit. Take it seriously.

I suffered 4 concussions my Sophomore year of football. Missed my junior year due to Post Concussion Syndrome. To this day, that was the worse day of my life and i've been through a lot physically.

If you can stand, walk, talk and move around without feeling like someone just punched you in your gonads but you also feel it in your head, then you should be ok.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
