What if Cam was Matt Ryan

CRA

Recommended Posts

I have never been a huge fan of Ryan, even when he was in college. But I don't think 3 int's is the Ryan we all know. He doesn't throw a lot of interceptions. In fact, his interception percentage is lower than Peyton Manning's and equal to Tom Brady. He definitely has some flaws, but throwing a lot of int's usually isn't one of them.

I know he doesn't usually, but he can and will.

Was referring more to his tendencies to make mistakes, like any other QB.

Honestly i've told people to lighten up on Cam. Even on the Falcons board. I don't think Ryan did anything wrong here is all.

Cam has his flaws like any qb, especially a young one. He takes responsibility though. I was dumbfounded about the whole Steve Smith calling him out to the media bit. I think he's got too much of the franchise on his shoulders.

Yeah. I mean they lost. Of course he's not gonna be thrilled to talk to the media. (referring to Cam) the media can suck a fat one. They always stick it to the Falcons.

Usually I shun the race card but let's be honest, it's because he's black playing a primarily white position. A position that many black players have tried and failed to play successfully (Keep in mind the countless white QBs who have busted. Literally countless.). He does have maturity issues but it's nowhere near as bad as made out to be, many white QB's are far worse than him with not a peep from the media. I hate to do it but...

It's cause he's black. We all know it's true.

I was wondering what your problem is at least now we know. I know just because your mom told you every time someone says something bad about someone black it racist. Sometimes its just the truth regardless what your skin color. Cam "WILL" be a good QB but if he makes a bad play are we suppose to just ignore it ans say well hes black hes allowed? When Dellhomme made bad plays we got on his ass why not Cam? Does him being black not allow scrutiny? And im sure you usually "SHUN" the race card. Kinda like never trust a guy that says trust me!

Lol how cute, the lurker thinks he knows who I am. You must think I'm a democrat. Go back to lurking.

I think you fail to understand the criticisms of Cam. The fans and the media WANT cam to do what Ryan is doing. Screaming in anger of losing is a positive sign. Sitting with a towel over your head alone does not look like leadership.

Nobody cares that he's black except for some Panthers fans who are insecure now that their QB isn't quite as good as they imagined.

WTF does being black have to do with fans so called insecurities about Cams abilities? You are a fugiing idiot, thats trying to couch your agenda in some weak ass strawman argument. Stop being a bitch and just say it straight out.

This kinda thing doesn't bother me that much, honestly.

Dan Marino's on-field s--t fits were legendary. So much so that one guy who made it into the league after growing up with Marino as his idol became completely disillusioned when his team played the Dolphins and he saw how Marino acted in a game.

Tom Brady's another one who's capable of a screaming fit when things are going wrong, despite the quiet persona. And nobody bats an eyelash, but let Jay Cutler throw a big fit and everybody is all over it.

Yes, there is a double standard in the league, and it's this: Win consistently and people will give you a pass on bad behavior. Win a Super Bowl and people will cheer for you even if you have fried baby seal for breakfast every morning. Fail to do either of those things and you're fair game for criticism (deserved or not).

So to be perfectly honest, until this team is a consistent winner, these "what if" threads are pretty silly.

Isn't RG3 black? Media seems to be all over his dick and watch how they praise him after today.

Trying it make it a race thing is dumb. Nobody even talks about Ryan that much good or bad honestly. He's a boring subject in comparison to Cam, thats why Cam gets more exposure. When we lose it will be bad exposure, when we win it will be them praising him nonstop.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
