Mort said Richardson did not want Rivera

Another losing record and RIver should be out the door. If he somehow manages 8-8 or 7-9 it will be tough because technically we improved from last year at that point.

I think Rivera is very smart but its hard to tell whether the players like to play for him or respect him. It also sucks he isn't very outwardly emotional. Sure it doesn't mean you don't care but showing it means you care to show that you care, and when people see signs you care its a bit more inspirational.

I am still meh on Rivera, IF we even out, right now I want out.

After the mind coach thing, you have to wonder if this is more b.s.

If true, it increases my respect for JR in two ways. First, apparently he is still pretty sharp in spite of his advancing years, and second, it kind of kills the whole JR is really running things theory. Sounds like he was letting Hurney make the important decisions whether he supported them or not, and that's a good thing in general for a owner/GM relationship.

    • I have said if you out even an average QB into the offense we are averaging 25+ points a game. But that will never happen with Bryce under center.
    • The defense is 28 out of 32 in salary cap allocation for 2025. We have a ton of resources tied up in the offense including the highest paid OL in the league multiple 1st round WR's and multiple recent draft picks across the offense at TE and RB and we have two 1000 yard backs. Bryce and company couldn't get past Tyler Shough and his crew in 2 games. That's all there is to it. You can spin it and put the entire onus on the defense to your heart's desire it doesn't change the fact that this is an OFFENSIVE team now. If you want to argue that we should revert back to a defensive identity as we have been in the past which has brought us success then I will agree with you on that. But as it stands the onus is on the offense because that is where we have invested through the nose. Dave Canales and Bryce Young need to do a hell of a lot better than they have against the rebuilding Saints who without us should only have 2 wins this season.
    • Bryce is not trending up. He is the same QB he has always been. Bottom of the league in most categories.  If Canales thinks he can build a contender with Bryce then he is a bigger idiot then I thought.  Offense next year will have the same issues and be just as inconsistent as it was this year.  We have seen Bryce’a ceiling and it is 175 yards a game and that is not a QB you keep around as your starter. That is barely a backup.
