Your Opinion on the Target, WalMart, (Other Bigbox Retailer Here) Thanksgiving Protests

Living wage? I was making $7.50/hr and my friend at walmart was making $12/hr doing almost the same thing... Lol

I'm sorry your friend's been working at walmart for almost 10 years, that's very unfortunate. Because Walmart hires everyone between 7-8 dollars an hour, regardless of past work experience. You get 40 cent raises every year, that's it. Whether you blow house rodents for 8 hours a day or actually do work.

He'd have to have been there at least 8 years to be earning 12 dollars an hour.

Take it from someone who worked for them for 6 years during high school/undergrad.

I'll tell you guys some more stories if you'd like to hear them. Walmart is the devil.

Lol

We need wage slaves to come work holidays because if it wasn't for them I would not have the opportunity to buy an Emerson 50 inch LCD that will break within a year for 200 dollars off regular price. Don't like it well then quit your job and get a better education so you can make salary but don't take out any loans you can't afford to pay off or go somewhere you require a grant to attend because I don't want my taxes going up because I don't understand what a social contract is

I've read stories about employees at these retailers being trampled to death by rabid customers looking for black friday deals on poo like fisher price kitchen playsets that their kid will play with for 3 fuging minutes on christmas before abandoning. I guess before you sign your 18 year old self up for working at Walmart you better accept that going to work on a holiday and possibly leaving with a white sheet over your lifeless body is just a part of business

Basically if you endorse this you're probably possessed by hitler

If you don't want to work when a company requires you to, find another job. If that's the best job you can get...then go back to school and suck it up until you can move on.

I refuse to work Sundays, and most major holidays. Does that make me feel better? Nope.

Now, Big Picture it disgusts me at how these companies are continuing the trend of raping their employees in as many ways as possible, but it's the consumer's fault...not the company. Soon Thanksgiving will be a shopping holiday based on greed instead of being thankful and giving thanks to others.

My wife thinks I'm weird because I'm sort of a Doomsday Prepper. Not off the wall like the people on the show, but I have tons of food, water and ammunition for when/if there is a collapse of social order. I showed her some Black Friday videos yesterday and said look how quickly people devolve into degenerate animals. And that's to save $100 on a shitty TV or $50 off a prepaid phone. How do you think they'll act when they have no food and water readily available? They will trample and rip to pieces anyone who stand in their way. This is fact, made clearer to me every year by the things I see on Black Friday.

My wife is a med tech, she had to work yesterday, so no I don't feel a lot of sympathy. But I don't understand anyone that would want to shop on black friday or thanksgiving night. I can't imagine a worse torture.

I can't imagine anyone wanting to Christmas shop in an actual store. Get the same deals on line and miss the hassle.

You could not pay me to go shopping on Black Friday.

So basically you should just blame everyone else for your shitty life and shitty education/career choices. Got it.

Unskilled labor garners unskilled labor wages. It is as simple as that.

Want a better paying job....actually give a damn about school and education.

I actually went to Concord Mills yesterday because we bought a shirt for my son last week and the store forgot to remove the security tag. I was pretty surprised to see that it wasn't especially crowded. While we were out, we went to Wal-Mart too for some basic stuff, and it was also uncrowded. Maybe people are finally getting smart about this black friday stuff?

But don't borrow the $100,000 or so it'll take to go to public school cause that shows a lack of personal responsibility.

    • Derrick Brown was one player I never called or even suggested was a bust . Dude was young and hadn't even hit his stride. It takes time to learn the position. The thing I appreciated about him is that he kept improving season after season. He got paid and keeps on going like the Energizer Bunny.
    • How many teams coddle their QB the way Bryce has been coddled? I have never seen any other team in the NFL EVER baby a QB the way that Bryce has been.  Bryce was named day 1 starter his first year. It was obvious he didnt deserve it. He wasnt ready as evidenced by the worst rookie year in NFL history.  So let's move to year 2. He's named starter again with no competition in TC and is benched 2 games later. We have the ghost of a backup in Dalton who is so bad he can only beat Vegas and let's remember, the only reason he lost his starting job was a car accident, not because Bryce actually beat him out in practice.  And year 3. We sign Dalton again, who already proved he couldn't be depended on to put an even remotely passable performance on the field, and bring back Jack Plummer, who was even worse than last year. It was obvious he was nothing more than a pretend body in an attempt to create an illusion of some type of attempt to find a backup.  Then we start again with garbage play again and Bryce gets benched with a phantom injury, and the ghost of the ghost of Dalton breaks his thumb on the first drive and craps the field all over again. If we had actually made an attempt to find a legitimate QB2, it's possible Bryce doesn't step on the field again. Bryce is not agood QB and if we had any other mediocre QB, our record would be the same or better.  Bryce is not entrenched. He's been placed, protected and sheltered from ever having to face a  real QB competition in TC. Richardson and Levis both were ass and both were benched and eventually replaced.  Do I expect Baker to face competition in camp? Sure. I expect Tampa to find the best QB2 they can at price that fits their cap and resources and system and get him up to speed. If he's better than Baker, and if he's better by a significant margin, that's best for the team. The ultimate goal is a Super Bowl. Bellichek was constantly getting QB2s with the GOAT as his starter. He knew the value and that was realized when Cassell led them to an 11-5 record as a backup.  You and I may think differently than the people that matter but I will say it again. If you're afraid to bring in a capable backup, especially after the debacle of last year. The starting role wasn't earned, it was given, and that's loser mentality.
    • I would have done the same thing.  LSU is a much better job than Ole Miss.  Plus the enormous contract and every advantage a college team can offer in terms of recruiting and facilities and tradition etc
