Overlooked stat for Cam

I think a couple Smitty TDs in San Diego are a real possibilty.

Be great if Cam and Smitty could account for those 4 needed TDs just by themsleves the next 3 games.

I'd like to see that just because its Smitty's home turf and his family will be there.

Also cool he gets to eclipse 1000 yards in front of them as well.

I don't get you PFFL

Cam's playing better, no one said he didn't make his mistakes earlier in the year, and he still has some accuracy issues.

But he still isn't playing well enough for you.

He's young, he's 23, he still has some maturing to do but he's doing a MUCH better job of ball security and being a leader. But it's just not enough for you.

So you have to let everyone else know that he doesn't make you happy even though, quite frankly, no one gives a flying fug.

i've got a suggestion for you and marguide (and everyone else, for that matter)...follow this example

Watching TNF with the Iggles hosting the Bungles they kept talking about how Dalton was only the third QB to ever throw for 20 TD's in each of his first two seasons. (P Manning and Marino are the other two)

Cam's name was never mentioned despite only needing 4 more passing TD's to join that small group.

So, I'm really hoping Cam can throw for 4 more TD's over the next 3 games and add his name to yet another accomplishment so few others have achieved.

Too bad as long as its Cam the only number they'll focus on will be the W-L.

Actually, they will mention Cam's accomplishments but follow it up with what he hasn't done. It's like they simple hate to just give Cam credit alone.

Also, I want to see this team succeed close out the season strong. If u can take the next three and I don't see why the Panthers can't, the so called slump thsy Cam is in would be muted. I hope.

No because that's how he learns. There's no getting around it in this league. He has to learn it. It's not optional.

Despite what some might thing here when looking for scapegoats, this coaching staff is highly supportive of Cam and have done everything possible to help that, including asking our other players to change their styles. They want him to succeed. Their careers depend on it too.

He's not going to learn by just watching tape. There's also no reason to have a dual rush QB like Cam Newton and not try to make the spread option work. Pocket passer = wasted talent. Maybe when he's older you transition to that, but right now, you take advantage of his legs, which right now is still his most potent weapon.

He should learn that in practice, that is the whole point afterall. Unless your opinion is that Cam couldn't read defenses period, the logical conclusion would be Chud should have had Cam running something else until he learned to read defenses from the option.

I gotta say, PFFL is the Tom Brady of trolls. He puts in the work. That's why he's the best. I'm thinking about changing my user name to PFFL-FFL.

Last year he said The Golden Calf of Bristol was good and Cam sucked. Silly, right? But when he surrounds his argument with walls of text and cherry picked stats, you guys can't help but to bite.

He owns your souls.

    • Nobody is saying we don't need it, just that we have bigger needs elsewhere, and that type of WR is actually something that is often found in the mid rounds, you just have to scout and evaluate properly. Here's another way of looking at why WR in the 1st shouldn't even be considered an option. Looking only at players currently on the team, what position group would you feel strongest about 4 years from now? I'm not sure there is a better answer there than WR, as you have to think T-Mac is our best player on the team in 4 years (Brown is the only current player I think there is even an argument to be made over T-Mac there), with Coker not far behind. Our OL is too old to be considered, my opinions on Bryce is well known, Hubbard will be done by then and the rest of the RB is an unknown, Off-ball LB is maybe our biggest need, we only have 1 legit safety, it's certainly not TE, and our 2nd best CB right now will be 33 by then.   Brown should still be a beast as he'll only be 31, but nobody else on the DL projects to be that good in 4 years.  Edge rusher with Phillips, Scourton, and Princely is probably the only other possible answer than WR. So yes, that fast/shifty type of WR is 100% a need of ours, but we have so many other bigger needs both in the immediate and future, that to me, taking a WR in the 1st for the 3rd year in a row and having hit on another WR in the same time frame, just makes zero sense both currently and looking into the future.
    • Laughing at Slayton (Mooney or Calvin Austin III), but telling me that Coker is the next best thing since sliced bread...You laughing at Theo Johnson in reference to our guys too? LOL No one in their right mind thinks Nabers is anything but a stud (definitely top 10 if not 5 potential). You do realize that Thomas was in a new system with a furst-time coach last year (with a questionable QB to boot)? And yet still, it's possible that he eclipses even T-mac (not saying that he will). They didn't even mention Travis Hunter. In any event, we're not in the top half. Draft another legit receiver, and we will be.
    • Absolutely, very fair assessment of the team.
