Scary facts from these past two seasons in the RivERA.

So after looking deeper in these last two seasons, it tells a very grim story of just how below average we have been. We have a combined 12 wins in two seasons. Get ready for this.. Only 3 of those wins have come from games played when we still had a realistic shot at the playoffs. Last year we won aganst the Blaine Gabbert led Jaguars and the Rex Grossman led Redskins when we still had a somewhat realistic chance at the playoffs.

This year it was a win against the Saints in week 2. It gets worse. Look at the teams we did beat these 2 seasons. In 2011 we beat the Jaguars, Redskins, Bucs, Bucs, Texans and Colts. This year we beat the Saints, Chargers, Raiders, Redskins, Falcons and Eagles.

That equals to beating just one team with a winning record in 2011 and just two teams with a winning record this year. Another grim fact is out of our 12 wins, 6 of those wins came against teams already eliminated from playoff contention. Chargers, Raiders, Bucs, Bucs, Eagles, Colts. Thats right, 50% of games we won have been against teams eliminated from playoff contention already.

Well what about those 3 games we won against the Redskins, Falcons and Texans? The Redskins win this year was when they had a losing record, the Texans win came a week after they clinched a playoff spot and oh BTW had TJ Yates at QB. The Falcons win also came a week after they already clinched a playoff spot.

So what does all this tell us? Well what I gather from all this is we are a team with a big heart that doesnt give up on the season when playoffs are out of the question but arent good enough to win when playoffs are still in the question.

Except statistically we've had a a very good season (with one of the toughest schedules) and except in two blowouts we've lost by <7 points in every game. We have a franchise quarterback who is a solid leader of the offense and a defensive stud rookie leader of the defense.

Compare us to the Colts. They've had the easiest schedule in the league, and Luck has won all of the "close" games they've has. Statistically speaking they're not going to win all those "close" games next year and we are not going to lose all of ours. It goes beyond wins and losses when you're speaking predictively and talking about the future of the franchise. The Colts are overrated, we're not. But please, spout more bullshit about how terrible we are.

Also, objectively speaking we're very underrated.

I think you will find similar stats for any team that only has 6 wins a season. Only 12 teams make the playoffs and And only 13 teams this year will finish with a winning record. Read that again so it sinks in...it is very tough to have a winning record. Only 13 out of 32 teams will have a winning record this year.

The only reason why RR is even being considered being brought back is we were competitive in and should have won most games we lost. I will take RR for another year if we can't get a reputable HC.

Oh yahhh moral victories for being close! We're undefeated when you include those.

    • Well, they're both in the same league (if you will). During preseason, Fitz went 3/3 & Sauls went 5/6, but of course Sauls was 4/4 last night (including one 50+). Both were Lou Groza Award finalists. I believe Fitz made two 55+ yarders last season, while Sauls led the nation with three. Fitz was 13/13 (💯) while Sauls was 21/24 (87.5). Fitz was a 3rd-Team AP All-American, while Sauls was a PFF All-American.  Career-wise, Fitz was 58/74 (78.4), while Sauls was 52/64 (81.3). I wish that I could see the attempts and knew the depth of yardage. I wish that we could compare practice kicks during their training camps, but we can't. Maybe someone with a PFF/CFF account can give that Basically it's just a matter of belief I guess. Seeing dude knock down four FGs and go perfect during a pressure-filled game for him is damned impressive if you ask me. I don't believe that Fitzgerald could do that.  That being said, I'd have to know more. I will say that it may be worth mentioning that we seem to like PFF this year and Sauls being a PFF All-American may be notable. Now that being said, the Panthers may not be even considering Sauls.
    • Ive said it 1000x times on here.  Our 2025 season will be dictated by the first 4 games.  poo the bed there and lose all confidence and momentum, we win 5 games maybe.  Go 2-2, 3-1 we got a look at 7/8 wins
    • I basically made almost the exact predictions on a phone call with a buddy about 3 weeks ago. I really do expect Evero gone before the seasons end, Young to just not able to get over the hump enough and DC to head into next season on a VERY hot seat.
