No job security in Carolina?

All would be fools to come here because Rivera is already on the hot seat. There a lot of pressure to perform as a player/coach in the NFL already.

Why come to a place that is expecting a lot right out the gate and if you fall short- there is a good possibility you will be looking for work again next year?

I'm now in the mindset that we might as well just get rid of Rivera and let Getty put together a coaching staff from the ground up. No?

I'm probably over-reacting, but I totally understand why Toub would go to the Chiefs.

Hue Jackson would be a moron to give up a chance coordinating an offense with Cam Newton so that he could continue working as the assistant Defensive backs coach for the Bengals or whatever gig he currently has. Whisenhunt doesn't have a ton of job security at the time being, having just been fired.

Besides. Every NFL coach is one bad season from being on the hot seat. It's just the nature of the business now. Coaches are used to it.

At the same point though anybody who came here would get to coach Cam Newton and an offense that finished twelth last season despite a disaster of an offensive line. It would be a risk to join the staff of a coach on such a hot seat, but it also is a hell of an opportunity to earn job security for a long time and possibly put oneself in position to make the jump to HC in the not too distant future.

Because these guys like a challenge and thrive under those conditions. It's like business world where executives are given opportunities to turn around a struggling company and department. Competitive people like challenges and like to reap the rewards of tacking such situations.

Coordinators are usually working on a year to year basis to begin with.

There is no job security anywhere in the NFL. The Carolina job is as good as any. Why do you think there are so many OC's are looking for a job now. Think about it, when Rivera came here, everyone was saying with a rookie QB it would probably take something like 3 years. However because we had some success and Cam was so impressive, he timetable got shortened to the point where he was almost out of job.

Hurney as much hate as he gets (I am not a huge fan myself), will probably be fired after drafting both the offensive rookie of the year, and quite possibly the defensive rookie of the year. Yes he has made some questionable cap decisions, but how much of that was based of mandate from the owner? What if some of the contracts were made a year earlier thus mitigating the cap hits?

People want results based on wins. If we don't make the playoffs next year Rivera is fired pretty much. That could be said for anyone. In 2010, Raheem Morris was coach of the year, in 2011 he was fired. Look at the coach of Auburn, I bet his staff was saying they were golden after winning the national championship (although Malzan came back ). There is no safety in pro, hell not even pro sports. There is no safety anywhere unless you are the owner.

You sound like you want Rivera to fail. It would be a great decision to come here if your confident your confident you can help the team win some games. That same pressure to win is everywhere. If your a competitive NFL OC why would you even think like that.

    • According to the website 2-4 weeks before the shipping starts, but that part is free currently. "Orders containing this item will be shipped separately 2-4 weeks after the player’s number is officially confirmed. Confirmation will take place no later than the start of the 2025 NFL regular season. Please trust your item will be produced and shipped as soon as possible." I think he's already confirmed the number, it just hit me about the jersey and maybe it was the free shipping(24$ ??) that was hit today.  you can call the team store, but I doubt they got any information.   goodluck!
    • He got noticeably bigger as his time here progressed.
    • just hit the market?  it's been up there since the night we drafted him lol My question isn't about ordering it but if they're being sold in the team store yet, as that would signal them being shipped out sooner than later. I want the blue one and if the blacks won't ship for a few months, I'd rather wait to see if they put the blue out there before then.  But if they're shipping in the next couple of weeks, screw that, I'll order this now and get another blue later, hahaha. I'd also prefer the next step up in the quality, but again, not sure when they'll make those available.
