This year's commercials...

...were mostly forgettable.

About the only ones that made much impression on me was Kia's "Respect the Tech" and NFL Network's "Leon Sandcastle". Even old reliables like Budweiser and Doritos didn't deliver this year.

Wasted opportunity given that from what Ive heard, this year's Super Bowl drew the best ratings ever.

The two that sparked the biggest conversation in my house were for car companies.

I felt like both Oprah and the Paul Harvey estate should be ashamed of lending themselves to something as cheap as hawking automobiles.

My wife said I was just being ridiculous.

Yeah, I have to admit, sadly, this is the first Superbowl that I kept falling asleep during. But, I was extremely underwhelmed by the commercials this year.

From the ones I saw, the Oreo one was probably the funniest. The old people Taco Bell commercial was "cute." But, other than that, nothing really stood out. I was really unimpressed.

And I don't know if this was a local commercial or national, but I kept seeing a commercial for the Honda Accord that was nothing but an infomercial with a creeper of a guy as the pitchman. I assume it was national because it wasn't associated with any local dealership that I saw. Really awkward and a huge waste of money for Honda.

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
