the charlotte metro is char, rock hill, concord, gastonia. off the top of my head i think its like right at 17 or 18 nationally.

nope, 33rd.

last I saw we were the 23rd largest media market in the US, it's kind of a good way to judge how big of a area we are.

the Triangle is a bigger population but it's spread out more and charlotte is more concentrated.

which source are you using? tv market they have been in the top 25 for years. population they are slowly creeping up.

Was speaking of the literal city of Charlotte.

But the Charlotte Metropolitan area has 1.7million or so and the "combined statistical area" has 2.4million people. This is a 16 county region - the one that SCP is referring too.

So they have to be reporting it wrong. Basically doubling the regional population in 2 years time? That's either wrong or some crazy poop.

Yeah, like I said earlier - they had to have misspoke. There's literally no way. The infrastructure would go into meltdown.

well it depends.the MSA is what the US uses overall for metro areas.

the 16 county thing is this ongoing coalition of counties that was started in the late 80's early 90's to regionalize the area to draw biz and money.

city limit pop Charlotte is bigger than Atlanta. but metro wise not the case.

im sorta a stat nerd when it comes to cities and population and trends and such.

    • I don't really care as much about athleticism and arm strength.  While Murray might be better in that regard, I think Bryce has enough of both to do well in the NFL. The main reason this trade reference is silly is the money and the fact that Murray has been around a long while and hasn't proven that he can perform consistently when the game is on the line.  Bryce has shown that he can play well in the clutch (in the few opportunities he has had).
    • If Bryce can continue the level of play he showed after the benching, then there's a good shot we at least compete to win the division. Tampa is a solid team but even last year in our week division they went 10-7 and will be on their 4th OC in as many years. The Saints are a mess and are in a mist of a half rebuild half still trying to compete mode and will probably be starting a rookie QB. The Falcons are a wild card as they have a really good offense but are we really crowning Michael Penix as a franchise QB after just 3 games?  The only thing I want out of this season is for Bryce to come out and without a shadow of a doubt prove he's our franchise QB. If that happens then most of the fanbase would be happy and I believe we'd be in a good place record wise at the end of the season. Maybe falling just short of winning the division with a chance to sneak in as a wild card team.
