He is an athlete compared to you or me.....by NFL standards Peyton Manning is nowhere near as athletic as Cam Newton. He doesn't have to be to play QB in the NFL in an offense suited for him. He uses playaction.....and Newton uses read options.

Dan Marino is a ALL TIME GREAT QB.....not an athletic one by today's standard. That means kids today can do things you couldn't dream of asking Marino. Doesn't make them better....makes them different. Means they run different offenses.

Problem is, it wasn't a dumb statement. I think most people knew what he was talking about as far as the athletic gap between Newton and Manning which is a valid argument on why Manning can't run the read-option efficiently as Newton.
