Charcoal lighting advice PLZ

Take my man card, blah blah what the hell ever.

I put about 30 coals in my charcoal grill, make a pyramid, douse this with more than enough lighter fluid, and light it on the sides. THE MUDDERFUGGGERS WON'T STAY LIT!!!

I cannot get a flame to stay, it always goes completely out in like 2 mins.

Advice and help please??

I am still able to cook with it, it just annoys me.

did you let it sit and soak into the bricks first? if you light it immediately you'll just burn the stuff sitting on the surface. you've gotta give it a good 10-15 minutes (with the cover on so it doesn't evaporate in the meantime) before tossing the matches.

I finally got then lit properly without doing that, by I am def going to do that from now on.

the chimney enclosures are good to have. before switching to gas I had one, and I also almost always used match light. in the end I got tired of the fire dying before I was done cooking. I love the ease of using gas.

poo man just throw some telephone book paper, some empty beer cases and some twigs light it on fire and your good to go. That's how us backwoods folk do it. Food might taste a little funny, but drink some beer you'll be good.

matchlight sucks, it always burns out too quickly. I use gas mostly now too, but love my charcoal grill too
