Let's get this Party Started. How do we Beat Seattle?

I know it sounds cliche to say score more points than them, but Gettleman could essentially create one of, if not the most dynamic offense's in the NFL if he decide's to go offense with the first two picks.

Picture this...

QB - Cam Newton

RB - DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart

FB - Mike Tolbert

WR 1 - Steve Smith, Domenik Hixon

WR 2 - Brandon LaFell, Teddy Ginn Jr.

Slot - Tavon Austin

TE - Greg Olsen, Gavin Escobar

That offense could put up 28 a game in my opinion...

1) Find a way to stop the run. This will be a HUGE challenge for our new NT, whether that be a rookie or vet.

2) Try to stop Cam from getting killed. O-line is a weakness and could be exposed early

3) Establish the run. Sets a tone for not only this game but the season.

4) Need our WR's to get open. Best secondary in the league IMO, so it will be tough. Olsen could be wildcard.

5) Competent FG kicker

Simple, as Chris Brown would say (pre Rihanna)

"Let me see if you can run it, run it

girl indeed I can run it, run it"

But seriously. Our defense played amazing last year when they played, Our offense however was terrible. We had just under 200 yards total iirc. Hopefully that will be fixed...

Stop overreacting and assuming that Seattle is some juggernaut. We lost the last game in which Cam played his worst game ever by a score of 16-12, and Seattle is still a much worse road team than they are at home.

Um, not only did they get better after that game, they've gotten even better on paper. No team is unbeatable but they are favorites in this match up.

We got better too, and better on paper is pretty much the kiss of death considering the axiom that whatever the common perception is in the NFL, the reverse is likely the truth. They're favorites, but nobody's unbeatable if this team plays like they did to close last year.

True, but beating Seattle the first game of the season would be a MAJOR boost to this teams' self-esteem. Seattle is a great team.

They are, but the NFL is about matchups, not records, and we match up well with them even with our secondary woes. I think Seattle will be better than the 49ers, at least.

    • I do think the rating is fair given how this unit hasn’t proven it with production. I understand you have to rank off production, not potential. However, our unit is also in a position to make this rating look foolish a year from now. We have 4 guys in the WR/TE room who all could legitimately take the next step this year, and catapult our rank. A guy under a lot of people’s radar after we took Tet, Jalen Coker. Mark my words, he will become the star of this room, and be the heir to Thielen.
    • Exactly. You’d think 2-7 wins a year (in a 17 game season no less) since 2017 is going to keep us bottom tier. Every year we say the same poo like we haven’t been a bad team the past 7 years. Until we prove we aren’t a bottom dweller, that’s where we’ll stay ranked. God forbid we have OL injuries like 2016.
    • What I love and hate about this team is it’s more filled with potential breakout players than ever before. JT, XL, Coker, Smith-Wade, Ikem, Trevin… and even Bryce are all guys I could legitimately see taking the next step. But the problem with having so many of those guys is that team success somewhat relies on them taking that step, and some are bound not to. That being said, I’m cautiously optimistic given our softer schedule, the way the offense clicked late last year, and the direction we finally have at GM, coach, and QB. Could see us as a sneaky playoff team.
