Best mid-sized sedan on the road today?

Typically when new car threads are started its more about how bad current products are.

I'm wondering what the members here think is the best mid-sized sedan on the market today.  Only considering the latest 2013/2014 models

It looks like the market right now has shifted with the Fusion and Mazda6 redesigns to compete with the rather bland Camrys and Accords of the world.  The new Altima seems ok.  Charger is a good one.  There's a good chunk of others out there too.

Its basically a cluster for a pretty common sought after type.

Whatsayyou at the moment?

I'm kind of looking into getting a smaller car.  I've had an expedition since 2005, and while it hasn't had too many problems, I'm ready for something less gargantuan, and with better mileage.  Main issue is my height.  I'm 6'8'', and my knees are on the steering wheel as it is.

Get that car that Shaq endorses.  Your a midget compared to him.

I know 3 or 4 people that have had Nissans and had horrible experiences....not sure if they were the Altima or Maxima

I have had an Altima and a Maxima in the past (but that was bout 10 years ago.....so not sure how they have changed from quality perspective).  I had no issues with them.

However, my wife had a Quest minivan about 3 years ago that was a total piece of crap.

    • Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.
    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
    • It is goofy how some people hate Bryce so much that they're flat out lying to try and remain entitled to their pessimism. It's insanity. Most fans are realists and eagerly awaiting the season to see if we get pre- or post-benching Bryce to start the season and how much he is able to do with some young and developing weapons. Many of us understand that these young guys are going to have growing pains on the job as well as the new defense, but the fans with all of the excuses for why Bryce can't be successful are pounding the no excuses drum. Personally, I'd prefer the Keep Pounding drum.
