TD hyped about the defense/Beason (per Sorensen of the Observer)

if this year's defense is as good as it seems and our offense continues to put up big scores, as Dr. Suess would say, "oh, the places you will go!" Damnit Man! Can the season get here already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm ready for some football :)

Point taken, but it has been a long time that anyone in our organization has even whispered that our defense could realistically fight for the number one spot. Yes, it's fluff, and all speculation at this point, but it speaks to this year's level of expectation and optimism for the defense without being totally outlandish in my opinion (like a full page ad in the paper).  Take this in concert with G-man's comments on the team as a whole, and Cam in particular, I believe that everyone seems more sober-minded and serious this year about getting "it" done.

I know we were all disappointed with the way things went down last year with regards to Beast. Most of us thought he would be back, and be Beastly, last year. However, that didn't happen. But, things appear different this year. Beast is on the field, for mini camps. He is ready to go both mentally and physically. He will be full go during TC this year.

That is huge.

Darin Gantt seems to hate all Charlotte sports teams.

I am all for keeping it real and not getting caught up in fluff pieces. But Gantt seems to never have anything positive to say.

He has also fallen onto the trap of thinking snarky and demeaning is being clever, funny, and relevant.

Why do so many sports writers try to moonlight as fugging comedians? One of those things that shouldn't bother me but does.

Gantt has had sand in his vagina for quite some time now. Try to ignore his menstruating.

If TD makes the distinction of differentiating our 4-3 scheme versus a previous 3-4 scheme then they could be the best 4-3 corps we have had.  But I think that the 1996 linebacker group of Mills, Greene, Lathon and Bailey were better than this  group will end up being.

Memories.  That was an awesome defense.  While I love the Davis, Kuechly, Beason wall on paper, I have to agree with this. 

 

I can say that the DL has a chance to be one of the best this team has ever seen.  Who would have thought that 2 years ago. 

 

I am not as down on the DBs as most people.  I think competition, coaching, and  maturation will make them better.
