Beach Camping

Just about done packing for the beach. Got my sun glasses, cooler of beer, and a brand new MSR two man tent ready to be set-up. Question is, where the hell do we camp? I haven't been to the Outter Banks in years. We are trying to stay away from KOA type camp grounds. Any suggestions? A guy at work told me about a few spots you bcan boat to. Problem is, we have no boat. Also, I'm a huge fan of craft beer. Is the Weaping Redish worth stopping by on the way? Any suggestions would be appriciated.

Bring a ton of mosquito spray. Those biters out there look more like bees.

TONS of mosquito spray dude. I've never experienced anything like that before.  I would wear pants at night to be honest those things fuged me up. Was not prepared for that.

Hang a couple dryer sheets on the flap of your tent. They help keep the bugs out.  Still, tons of bug spray.

 

There is a nice little campground in Buxton that is not a KOA but it's not on the beach. Can't remember the name of it (been years since I stayed there) but was reasonable and the folks that ran it were nice.

Carolina Beach.

 

You can take your 4x4 out on the beach so you don't have to lug everything.

 

Make sure you go when there us supposed to be wind, that will keep the skeeters away for the most part.

Frisco Woods is the place... miss those days. Too old to sleep in a tent now, and they have too much beach shut down to driving.
