Crazy Soccer Fans Decapitate Referee Who Killed Player

FYI, brazil is a very developing country. Most of people in brazil are very poor. I got relatives from brazil, I know.

England does have hooligans, not gangs. It usually more peaceful than football games. I'm a die hard Arsenal fan and I follow English premier league very close and I never heard of any big fights or deaths.

so I'm assuming the movie Green Street Hooligans is a very inaccurate portrayal of firms---if those even exist?

I really hope you're not serious... it's a fugging game, dude.

Unless I read it wrong it was the stabbed guy's family who stormed the field and killed the ref. If you just watched someone shank your family member during a soccer match you'd be pretty pissed too. .

Brazil is a crazy country...in cities just outside of Rio you are allowed to drive as fast as possible bc of the high rate of murders and robberies..no speed limit through a small neighborhood says..developing country.

There is a gun manufacter here in Columbia, SC who won a county bid (7-8 years ago) to supply the Police with these new handguns...the bullets that the police uses in the county were not compatable with these new guns so they ended up being sold to dealers in Brazil and to the gangs there. They were semi auto handguns but fired almost like automatics.

Guy who sold for them was in networking function i attended and we were talking about good movies when I mentioned City of God, about child gangs in Rio...when he mentioned that story to me.

If my kid got stabbed in front of me... They would at the very least be decapitated..

That LiveLeak video of them putting the head back with the body is nuts.

now i just watched it and have to say-- meh, didnt really effect me at all.. i think my innocence left awhile ago

In US and all other developed countries, soccer indeed is not violent. In developing countries its a different story.

I've walked the streets of 3rd world countries unescorted and not speaking the language and I've never been more worried about my safety than when I went to a soccer match in GDL, MX in the cheap seats. I was warned to make sure I root for the friggin Chivas against the Pumas (told both are home teams to GDL), but since the Chivas are 2-3 times as popular the stadium was filled with their fans. Ref flagged a Puma player getting fouled, easy call, since he didn't have the ball....and my friends grabbed me and told me to start booing. I'd look like a Puma fan if I didn't. Then they showed me the crowd carrying 3 Puma fans out of the seats and tossed them to the back of the stadium where the stairs were. And yes, carried and tossed, not escorted or shamed out.

As for the US, my dad still REFs soccer matches for highschools and mens leagues. They only violent problem they ever have is parents and small scuffles between the adult leagues.

What the family did with the referee's body after they killed him is extreme, and makes for a gripping headline, but people kill each other over stupid stuff all of the time, in this country and every other. Remember those two guys somewhere in NC that killed each other over which NASCAR driver was better? Dead is dead. Decapitation and mutilation bothers the people left behind MUCH more than it does the deceased.

This is another example of why sometimes, it's better just to take the ass whooping and live to fight another day.

Violence ie violence. No matter the sport. Just because a sport is not violent in game does it mean it wont be outside the game. People are crazy. Refs have been threatened and killed before in soccer. I understand the ref having something to defend himself. He just took it to the extreme. The players family did the same. If I remember correctly, the NFL has had its crazy events like this. Case in point was it last year some guy got stabbed or poo at a raiders game? Sure it wasn't as brutal as decapitating a person, but still, a dude died at a game over stupidity.
