so due to my brother-in-law picking the worst date in the history of mankind to get married at the worst possible time of day to get married, i will find myself scrambling to leave the wedding on the verge of appropriateness (which i don't care about since his fiance hates my ass anyway) to find a place to watch the game.

the panthers-seahawks game.

on opening. freaking. day.

the wedding is in wrightsville beach and the ceremony is at 11am, so basically i have to calculate hauling ass out of there in time to zip to a bar in the wilmington area in time to make the opening kickoff. preferably a decent place, though i am not opposed to a dive bar. the wife and kid may be with me (or they might drop me off there and go do beachy things, i don't know.)

anyway help a brother out.

    • Would absolutely love to have him. I dont think he would require more than a 5th rounder. The biggest thing with his contract is the amount of guaranteed money. As long as they can work out and scenario where the Panthers aren't on the hook for a lot of that, I think it's a no-brainer. The Panthers can come up with $20M at the drop of a hat with restructuring Moton's contract, so there definitely isn't an issue from a money perspective. Jaycee paired with Ramsey along with Mike Jack would give us one of the best CB groups in the league. The one caveat I see is that safety still remains our biggest current weakness. We need a starting caliber S more than CB, simply put. But adding someone like Ramsey would be amazing as long as the compensation made sense. Ramsey could also play for FS snaps also. I also dont understand this nonsense about being seasons away. We have a QB on a rookie deal who was playing at an elite level to end last season. Within reason, now is absolutely the time to make moves like trading for Ramsey.
    • He'd be a huge upgrade for this year, but we're still not going to be contenders with him and I'd rather keep the cap space to roll into next season to spend on a younger player who can be an impact starter for us for the next 3-5 years while we're hoping to contend.
    • Because playoff hockey and regular season hockey aren’t the same thing.  It’s a combination of the game intensity being dialed up with loose officiating.
