Sharing on social media sites won't make this site be the equivalent of a message board on the front page of ESPN. It WILL however bring in more panther fans, which will increase ad revenue, which could possibly lead to future goodies. I run a similar board with the same software and we have a chat room (which should work fine with this board as well). Obviously that function costs the owner additional money, which he'd need additional income to justify that cost. There are other similar goodies as well tha fit that scenario.

He would obviously have to increase moderators and modify the rules slightly if the forum were to become 3 or 4 times more popular.

Also for income,

He could get away with enhanced profiles, such as a bigger avatar, signature, vendor status, increased message box, no post count wait and other goodies by offering a premium account for a few dollars a month. (Believe it or not they sell)

I also was unsure why when I view the site on my computer the gray area to the left and right of the forum isn't being utilized. Why not fill it with ads and run Adsense with CPM? (Cost per 1000 impressions)

HELL NO!!! What the fug is wrong with you???

Having an additional banner ad running down each side won't kill you. I'm looking at it from my perspective though and I'm a greedy man. Haha.

What really irritates me are the pop up ads some forums have (I usually see it on vbulletin) that pop up if you hover over a keyword. THOSE are annoying as hell.

I get tricked by those all the time. Think they are links to other pages that the author used to support their piece.

How would you counter the argument that the quality of message board / internet community follows a bell curve where once a certain size user base is surpassed the quality of content and discussion will inevitably deteriorate? Do you have a suggestion/plan on how to combat that?

If the huddle (as with any message board) were to get super popular eventually the quality, respected, knowledgeable voices will be drowned out by the lowest common denominator (inane arguments and knee-jerk reactions). Where the huddle lies on this curve currently is up for debate.

As a user who does not stand to make any monetary gains from the huddles popularity, you probably understand my hesitance to make it as popular as can be. I definitely don't think we are lacking in quality, dedicated users either.

So, convince me I'm wrong.

Actually this has already happened.

Further more, this site is my "dirty little secret" as most of my "real friends" would not understand the sarcasm, flaming, and board line pornagraphy presented on this forum on a daily bases.

Just spreading the love. Shouldn't every group of family and friends be as "functional" as us?

Your arrow is pointing to "pinned".

I've tried clicking it.

It does nothing.

I even hit the green button, and nothing

try the X at the top right of your browser..  I don't think zod realizes he pointed in the wrong direction...

man those buttons are annoying!  but, hey, you have a new bebeh to feed, so ok...but from now on, can you please pull out.  One more mini Zod, and you'll have us doing network marketing.

That's actually a great idea. (Not the pulling out part....well, I guess it depends on the woman, but I digress)

Having a Panthers FB page would boost exposure to the site even more so than sharing articles.

Load it with pictures and copy and paste certain assessments, cuts, predictions, etc.

Everyone on here would like it and occasionally share the material on their wall. Their friends would see it and visit as well. It would boost site traffic for sure.

It would probably take an hour to set up and about 15 minutes a day of updates/maintenance.

The only time the hamsters get tired are for the hour or so after a game is finished on game days. I am looking into some cloud servers that say they can alleviate such things.

They can be tricky to set up if you go that route; PM if you want any info on the process/suggestions, I tore my hair out over many a day over them.
