They cut Hangman and they seem to have faith in Williams & Kugbila going into the season.

They might not be bringing in anyone now until they see what they have.  But depending on who gets cut from other team's and how our players do in the preseason, the whole we are not bringing anyone in, could change in a heartbeat. And likely will.

I know they are different positions, but if WIlliams was that special, why did he not beat out Bell?  He is a T by trade.

 

Williams can play 4 OL positions, which makes him pretty valuable as a reserve.   The first preseason game will expose him.

 

Until the ink is dry on free agent contract, the coaches will build GW up like a pimp does his ugliest girl.  Not that i have any knowledge of this.

I think we sign somebody, nothing against Gary, but the timing of this cut doesn't make any sense. Hangman at least has versatility to play any interior position, not awesomely, but better than many other backups. I don't think you just discard that for what? Williams' peace of mind? Cap room when there's no one to sign? Another body coming in is my guess.

When there is little drop off from Jangmsn to Williams, you don't keep Hangman around at almost $2 million per season.

I'm not comfortable at all with it. All I can do is think how well we played without Kalil and a rookie Silatolu. (well enough for 7 wins) So it is possible we play good enough.

Unless Gary has improved greatly, I am not comfortable with him starting at all.
