DT Lonnie Harvey catches Panthers eye

Big L is a close friend of mine, the dude just can't wait to get to training camp and get the pads on, that's all he's talked about. He's got that natural strength to him, we'll all see once TC opens.

I read about Harvey and it reminds of another DT we had a few years ago. If Harvey can be stout against the run and still collapse the pocket, he can surely be used in this defense and is the defintion of a solid Tackle. I wonder if he can develop himself into a poor man's Kris Jenkins as he develops his NFL body.. If he can end up making the team and contributing this year he will defnitely be worth a spot on the 53 man roster. I don't know if he would last on the PS. I guess we will see in the next month or so.

Seems pretty weak for a man his size. He kept get stuffed at the point of attack. You would think he highlights would have been more impressive. He's probably good enough to make the PS at best. As thin as we are at DT, he'll stick to the last round of cuts.

He wasn't getting stuffed. He was driving his man into the backfield and disrupting the play. He forced the QB to make errant throws. He made the RB cut back into coverage. He looked pretty solid to me

That's what I saw too, most of the time...

and thats why everybody is big on him, he lived in the backfield from what i seen.seen him play my school and he just destroyed our oline.and he doesn't quit unitl the play is over you see him running to the ball.

think about the level of competition..i saw a lot of plays were he was being held by one guy and driven back.. he will have to get a lot stronger to make the team

i didnt see that, and he will get stronger with the right training.and the competition he went against is not big d1 ball but still it is pretty stout.some of the best ball players come from schools such as morgan state,winston-salem state, hampton,sc state. this guy lived in the backfield and turust me the panthers will get him stronger.plus did you see what he did in the rutgers game?
