I promise, my last thread of the night.

All of the "bubble" players for our WR corps made a decent case for themselves tonight. Who do you think survives the cuts?

I'm just excited that we have legitimate receiving options beyond Smitty, Olsen, and LaFell.

After tonight I think its possible the team keeps 7 WR, especially if Gettleman only wants to keep 2 QB and Pickles is sent packing.

Edwards gettis hixson. Adams made plays but his plays kind of don't matter he's nit going to supplant ginn.

No way to call it right now imo.  This could be a great receiver battle.  What I am most interested in right now is if 14 is going to win the #3 spot.

I agree that two of these three are cut.  Right now Gettis or Adams could still make the cut if one of them makes no major errors throughout the preseason.  Pilares is pretty much going to be cut imo.

Smith Lafell Edwards Hixon Ginn are the 5 likely locks. Pilares seems like a lock to go. So, as others have said, it really depends on if we go 6 or 7, with either Gettis or Adams being the odd man out if we go 6. Bersin is a year away.

I think Pilares is gone for sure bc what makes the number 4 and 5 recievers are the fact that they can play special teams as well as being a decent wide reciever, but it is way too early to tell so idk

I have no idea how you (no one in particular) even consider keeping Joe Adams when he has shown absolutely nothing as a WR. He's not proven to be a good enough professional returner to merit keeping him for that alone. He'd have to show A LOT on offense from here on out to make it. And I think we only keep 6 regardless.

Gettis

Pilares is gone...

Adams will have to make plays as a WR if he wants to stay.

RR said post game that Ginn is the returner, they just wanted to give other guys opportunities.

With AE and Gettis stepping up and Hixon likely making the team on his reputation as a solid third wide out, Adams and Pilares better pack their bags.

Also have to consider, it's possible Pilares holds onto a spot because every other WR has ability on offense and in the return game, but Pilares is the only one I recall (and maybe Gettis his rookie season) that has played as a gunner and/or in kick coverage. And Pilares has been very good in coverage in the past.

Just saying I think the coaches value his versatility, but IMO, I'd rather go with the group I listed above.
