We are fans not the players. It is ok for us to temper emotions so that we can handle a full season and not be emo after every loss or win. This forum can be barely tolerable as is with all it's pessimism at times.

I'd rather say let's not act like if we win the first game against the seahawks that it's our super bowl. If we win great, we have a team that can compete. If we lose, well there is a lot more games left in the season.

Half of these consistent playoff teams are guaranteed a 0-1 start this Sunday. Broncos, Ravens, 9ers and Packers. Two of those elite 4 teams are guaranteed a 0-1 start. So if we lose, no sweat, we will be in good company and still have 15 games left.

 

Statistically your chances of making the playoffs drops to 25% if you lose week 1. That is huge.

 

And you are halfway to 0-2 where your chances go to a little less than 13%.

 

This is a very important game for us.

 

On the flip side it is not an NFC south game and we have a few easy ones coming up (jinx)
