Seattle game will be a good litmus test for our offense

I am not sure how I feel about opening up against one of the leagues best defenses All the questions about Shula, Cam,our OL and wide receivers will be answered on Sunday.

Two of the knocks on Cam are finding other receivers not named Steve Smith and his accuracy especially under pressure . Lets hope Cam will show patience and not force the ball which results in turnovers.

Shula"s test will likely result from Seattle's run defense. Can Shula shake his reputation from Bama and Tampa and come up with packages creative enough to sustain drives?

Most everyone agrees that out OL appears less than talented enough. Does G-Man know something he is not telling us? Or is this his idea of a bad joke?

If Lafell disappears is Rivera smart enough to pull him in favor of Hixon, Ginn, and Edwards? I hope so.

Will Steve Smith be ejected for breaking the face of Sherman before the game is over? More than likely

If this depressing please remember our defense can win games.

Our biggest problem under Rivera has been slow starts. Seattle is highly regarded across the country as one of the top power house teams. Since it is game 1, Seattle can expose us for what we are. Seattle is a hard hitting hard working team so we will know if Rivera has prepared us for battle this year.

Will we compete this season? While a win or loss won't guarantee a good or bad season I think this game will be a much better gauge of what Shula will bring and what our offense will look like this season.

I actually like it.

Sherman is gonna talk his way into getting burnt like Fred Smoot use to do with Washington... Poor guy ... Smoot never recovered after Smitty burnt his azz and literally broke his ankles.

Sherman isn't Smoot.

at this point, you gotta give Sherman the edge in that matchup.

Smoot was with Minny when he got his soul butt fuged. Jesus Smitty went nuts.

Yeah...lol that was the beginning of the end for Smoot. Steve destroyed and exposed Smoot for talking to much noise.. All signs point to Sherman being that same big mouth corner. He is a better defender but that trash talk is not gonna help him against Smitty.

I don't give any CB the edge against Smitty in this league. The better they are, the better and more angry Smith plays.

The 34 year old version?

Sherman is one of the few I would. Heck, he might be the only one.

Sherman is just a good matchup for Smitty on top of being a top CB.

He is physical and he wants Smitty to get into the extra junk.

Score is Sherman 1, Smith 0.

Sherman couldn't of kept with the 2005 era Smith but that means nothing now

Espescially at 34. He reminds me of an older guy playing pickup basketball. Uses his body way more and pushes people around.'

Hey Panthro!

    • https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/47371200/sources-rams-fire-special-teams-coordinator-chase-blackburn LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Rams have fired special teams coordinator Chase Blackburn, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The move marks the first in-season coaching change that Rams head coach Sean McVay has made in his nine seasons in Los Angeles. Rams assistant special teams coach Ben Kotwica will take over and become the lead special teams coach, a source told Schefter. The Rams, 11-4 and second place in the NFC West, lost to the Seahawks on Thursday night in a game that included a Seattle punt return for a touchdown and a missed 48-yard field goal by Los Angeles kicker Harrison Mevis. The Seahawks (12-3) overtook the Rams for first place in the division and the top overall record in the NFC thanks to the 38-37 overtime victory. Though the Rams have lost only four games this season, three have involved special teams miscues. In the Rams' first loss of the season, 33-26 to the Eagles, Los Angeles had its final two offensive possessions end with blocked kicks. In the Rams' Week 10 victory over the Saints, kicker Joshua Karty missed an extra point and a 39-yard field goal attempt. After the game, McVay said the Rams' special teams issues "can't continue like this." Los Angeles replaced long-snapper Alex Ward with Jake McQuaide and Karty with Mevis, who had not missed a kick until Thursday night in Seattle. Blackburn, 42, was in his third season as the Rams' special teams coordinator. A former linebacker for the Giants and Panthers, he also has worked as an assistant with Carolina and Tennessee.
    • It was a bad play from Icky but the OL didn't give up a sack until late in the 4th quarter and Bryce just stood there like he was canatonic. If our 3rd year number one overall pick can't overcome one single sack against a rebuilding Saints team that should only have 2 wins this season then it isn't ever going to happen   This is your quote. I mean I’ve quoted it twice. It was followed by calling people that defended him fugers and several other meltdowns I can also quote.    Shame you for working for a living??? Wow this is a whole new level to your victim mentality thing you like to do. You don’t have to watch games live. Or don’t spend an entire thread arguing about something you didn’t get the full picture of. I miss parts of games all the time. That’s just life. Not even going into the whole losing all respect thing.
    • Rams ended up firing ST coach and former Panthers coach Chase Blackburn after the loss. Sounds all too familiar.
