Not sure when I came here...maybe 04 or 05?  I do know that I was posting at the Observer forum and Nance suggested I come here.  Initially when I looked around...turned off by all the adolescent male girly stuff but finally found some good football content and signed on.  Nance is a poster who I love to see around and always respect his opinion.

Congrats Zod on the birthday. Hope the Panthers make it an even more memorable year for you.....and for us all.

That is exactly how I made it here. I have been lurking daily since 03/04 timeframe. Way back then, the lounge was especially awesome. Cooter, ms.scarlett, livermush, comixdr etc. I never posted but I would read about their exploits daily and would laugh at loud at times. Now.....back to lurking. Carry on.

Yeah I've been around longer than any of these guys remember. To be honest, I was kind of turned off to the idea of forums in general after being on Panthers.com, so I didn't immediately join the Huddle. I figured if the Panthers didn't have anyone who could actually control their own poo (to the point that they just said to hell with the fans, and let some third party crackpots take over), then what was the point.  When I finally joined the Huddle probably a year or two later, I wasn't too impressed with the personal attacks and what I considered lack of moderation, but someone suggested that I get a thicker skin and take it all in stride. I did, as well as learned to get back with motherfugers, and the rest is history. I don't necessarily lurk, but haven't posted nearly as many as some. However, I've always believed in quality over quantity.

10 years of lurking... score!

I'll be travelling to Minneapolis to support our panthers from middle of no where Canada. Last time I did this trip I was witness to Gambles magnificent special teams lateral to basically lose the game. Hoping for better luck this time!

Been here since 03 or 04. The amount of time I've spent on this board is likely the equivalent to the time spent getting a masters degree. I fail

Anyways the huddles been an interesting place. Its always insightful of how guys really act and think.

    • It's not impossible to go from worst to first.  We kept Evero because anyone in there right mind knew our defense was destroyed by injuries, not the scheme.  Evero has been given a plethora of talent between free agency and the draft, not to mention getting DB back. I fully expect our defense to be very good.  I have no reason to think Jones would say something like that unless he truly felt like that.
    • We would’ve played Florida and lost in the 1st instead of the 3rd round.  Montreal would have been the 8 seed.
    • I can't get behind a purely subjective re-draft as a method of defining "top-10 QB" status. That invites bias based on vibes/hypotheticals and can ignore actual on-field performance. You and others have said that Bryce has to be a top-10 QB to justify the pick. That's a high bar, which I'm not against, but we need a clear, consistent way to measure it. When I bring up metrics that Bryce has registered in the top-10 in like BTT%, P2S ratio, catchable deep ball rate, etc... they're waved off as either irrelevant or the expected baseline performance. Meanwhile, volume stats like passing yards or win-loss records, both of which depend heavily on roster talent, health, and coaching, are treated as definitive. That's where the inconsistency kicks in. If no performance metric ever counts in his favor and the answer is always going to be "he should be doing that," then we're not evaluating him... we're just holding him to a curve he can't win against. If this is really about performance standards, then let's define them. But if it's just about confirming prior takes based on height and weight, then let's call it what is it and stop pretending that this is a football analysis discussion.
