Should Ron Rivera be standing up for Cam?

Ahhh it's the Monday after a Panther loss, something Panther fans know all to well. Today has become known as Blame Cam Mondays.

If your like me you probably try to stay away from any sports related show that you can following a loss. You try, but you just can't help being pulled in by the force of curiosity. You turn on the tv and you tune in for Blame Cam Mondays.

It's everywhere even if you try to avoid it you can't escape it. You hear on the way back to your car after the game, "He ain't getting a new contract playing like that," one fan screams. You hear it on the radio, on espn, NFL network, and even your local supermarket.

You asks yourself why? What did Cam do to deserve so much ridicule. Is it because he was drafted #1 overall. Is it because we witnessed the fab 4 provide the NFL with fools gold. Don't get me wrong all of those guys are great but none were placed in the situation that Cam Newton was. Andrew Luck was some might argue but besides the season prior to his arrival that team had been to the playoffs for 9 straight years. The other three relied heavily on a strong run game.

Let's dig deeper. Is it because of the "stolen" laptop at Florida? Maybe it was because his father had been accused of taking money for his son to play. How about him walking in to Auburn after and in the midst of all that and walking out a heisman trophy winner and a national champion?

Is it because many labeled him a bust before he ever took an NFL snap and were proven wrong?

Now lets get to the real question. Why hasn't Ron Rivera stepped up and accepted blame or taken some off of his young quarterback.

Why can't Ron Rivera stand up and say don't attack Cam don't blame Cam we lose as a team and I'm responsible for this team.

On Blame Cam Mondays you never hear any talk about Ron Rivera, Mike Shula or even Chud.

I'm convinced most people don't even know who our head coach is. Do you think Jim Harbaugh would stand by while the media trashed Colin on a regular basis. Pete? Shanahan? I don't think so.

So I ask you huddle why can't Ron Rivera stand up and take some of the bullets being shot at Cam?

why should he? smart people aren't attacking cam.

if rivera stood up for every stupid thing idiots on the huddle say he would be having daily press conferences about why our front office made the decision not to trade nakamura for jairus byrd or why we don't see armanti edwards running quarterback triple reverse option double pitches to get the most out of his talent

What the fug are you talking about? Like, sometimes I wonder if people are only fans of Cam, and not the Panthers. Rivera hasn't blamed Cam not once, hell, he put the blame on Shula.

Never said he blamed Cam. I was a fan long before Cam ever got here. I actually wasn't a fan of Cam's until he joined this team. I never said he blamed Cam. But the reason why Cam gets so much blame is because Rivera never accepts it. The coach should be the face of this team. He's not.

It has nothing to do with the huddle it has to do with the thrashing Cam takes from everyone outside of Panther land and let's be honest our own fan base. Rivera deflects blame and that allows open season on Cam

I wonder if we made the patriots or the 9er's squrim out a win would the conversation be the same.

I honestly don't think half of the huddle understands that we opened against a team that has the potential to represent the NFC in the Superbowl.

Also, I honestly believe half the huddle dosent have pubic hair.

You think this is a one game reaction or the result of a two year circus

    • Bryce just didn't maximize Hunter Renfrow's skills. ***rant incoming*** But this isn't just about Bryce Young mistiming passes to Renfrow so bad that he's going to get Renfrow killed or hurt, this is also about incompetentence by Dave Canales. Renfrow can still play. He's putting DBs in a blender out there---making them play twister at the top of routes to keep up with him, and dumb Dave has the nerve to cut him. How about putting Hunter in the best position to help the damned offense by appreciating his skill set, DC? You're letting Bryce's apparent inability to make an accurate throw, or at least his timidity to push the ball down the damned field cloud your judgment and miscalculate talent---or maybe just miss on talent just as much as Bryce misses passes due to playing pussified football. It's fúcking unacceptable.  Speaking of misjudgment, I don't know if it's Dan Morgan or Canales, but Eijiro Evero is not the business at DC. I have said a few times that his scheme is not conducive to run-stopping efficiency. Hell, and after watching some clips of plays, now I absolutely know why. The gaps are at least half open before the play even fúcking starts. You are setting the opposition's RBs up for success with too much damned space at the line and in the second level. If our guys are taken out in these areas---at the line and in the second level---then the defense is screwed because it must rely on the safeties to cover too much ground to make the tackle. At least put Ransom in who is motivated to seek and destroy if you're going to effectively leave the safeties on an island.  And speaking of rookies, get our two new defensive ends more snaps to see if we can't generate more of a pass rush. For all the good the continued sorry display of defense that you're putting out for fan's to see (Ejiro, Dave and Dan), you may as well get the rookies generously involved. Fúck that money we gave second-rate (maybe second-rate) vets, we need a damned spark getting after the QB. Watch it, it's just another breakdown of the sh¡t we were subjected to last week. I say this with all respect: Fúck you, Dave! Fúck you, Dan! Learn how to run a fúcking franchise. Maximize the players, regardless of what you think you're supposed to do by the book. Cut the dead weight before another season is lost and fans lose interest in September. EE is "Ew!" Or for emphasis "EEw!" /end rant
    • But nobody is saying he is a good deep ball passer.  But the facts are since he's returned from his benching, he has been throwing downfield.  Whether you want to credit the scheme, Bryce himself, or whatever, he has been pushing it deep.  Not to any positive results mind you, but it has been happening.
