So, there's going to be a The Walking Dead spinoff...

Were you watching the same show as everyone else?

Yeah. The went back and forth between the two groups made it lame for me. Not to mention that some weeks nothing even happened.

Love the first 2 seasons when they on they run. Maybe others feel differently but I hope they kinda go back to that. The feel and the vibe it had to it was great. Now not so much.

I just thought (and pretty much the general consensus around here) that season 2 with them lingering around the farm was far more boring than what they did in season three.

I thought the season 3 episode with Morgan in the town was the best episode of the entire show to date.

I have to agree that the low points in season 3 (and there were a lot of them) are probably the worst of the worst for the series.

They did have some really great moments though and, thankfully, the new show lead is the one that oversaw most of those.

I'm optimistic for S4, only because I hope they can kinda get back to the source material a little.

As for the spinoff, it will have the potential to be better than TWD to me, just because everything storyline wise will be new, and not have a source.

There are tons of good stories that can be told in this world.  TWD video game was pretty good.  The only thing I want is for them to move the plot.  All of season 1 and parts of season 3 did really well to move things forward, but the rest was awful.

For those who have read the comics (and even those who haven't), I was wondering about TWD while thinking about Breaking Bad ending today.

What exactly is the end game for TWD (the show)? I mean, the point is essentially no one survives, ya just keep going, right? So how are they going to wrap TWD up? Just a random thought, but I think I've seen guys on here talk about Rick dying and Carl becoming the new little badass.

White text since I don't know how to do spoiler tags above...

So, that said, could TWD end with that main character's death, and the spin-off become focused on the other one? I have a hard time seeing AMC run two Walking Dead shows, with such similar plot themes in both. Again, I'm not a reader so probably a lot of ignorance in this on my part.

I might take some heat for this. But what exactly is a spinoff. Can someone explain exactly?

It is basically a show that involves some aspect of a previous show. In this instance, they are reportedly using the same zombie apocalypse scenario, and just focusing on a different group of survivors/location.

Hopefully they get much, much better actors for this installment, as the current crew is cringe-worthy.  They should do this out to the west and have them maybe in the hills/mountains or whatnot.

hey, I keep up with the show like everyone, but this is exactly what I think of every time I hear someone over-exaggerate how "fuging badass this show is!"

it's good.  it's not great.

And the plot seems to drag along...

I'd rather see the plot moving past all the "shocking" emotional build up when they should be used to the environment by now.  At least to the point where you only start introducing a new "shock and awe" to the characters here and there..

And it's taken 3 seasons just to get into a "war" with another community.  Easily could have built up the battle sporadically through season 2 and fought it through season 3..

Season 4 should be something new and exciting.  I feel like I've been watching this plot for far too long...

  • 2 weeks later...

Season 3 was better than season 2 but both were still not that great.   At least Andrea is gone (they butchered her character).

The Morgan episodes are BOTH the best ones in the series.  Episode 1 right and then the one last season?

    • I agree it does seem the league is against Charlotte but the picks they've made have been questionable. They've had sure fire picks fall to them and they keep trying to build a army of forwards who cannot shoot for some reason lol. You got to make a move in offseason and or trade for scoring. I get the best aren't coming to Charlotte but theres been opportunities at solid players with experience, that would've come just to be the man here in Charlotte. They got to stop over thinking this in the draft too. Take the best scorers available! I'm hearing we need more size on the wing, a big man, great defender, etc. but nothing about scoring or a shot creator. This team has been terrible at shooting the rock especially from the perimeter and its a iso 3 ball league, no one plays defense or really runs an offense. This franchise does not do well with developing players either. I've seen too many guys take huge leaps once they were away from Charlotte which is concerning. And even more concering that they're taking developmental guys when they have no business doing so. So, All that to say take a proven scorer, high basketball IQ guy, a unpolished player will not survive here.
