Steve Smith 2013 Stats

time he tried to fight the whole Buffalo team....priceless

The best part was the announcer was like: "And there appears to be a Panthers player in a scuffle in the middle of the pack of Bills players."

Every Panther fan knew instantly who it was, didn't need visual confirmation.

I'm trying to figure out the last time I remember a WR screen being thrown to him.

I don't understand why fuging Lafell (not hating on him) always gets the WR screens. I get unbelievably pissed when I see that. It goes Smitty, Ginn, Armanti, Hixon, Lafell in terms of who I would want getting the screen.

11 catches of only 37 completions is a pretty good percentage. AJ Green is 15 of 51, Calvin Johnson is 10 of 52 for comparison. Yardage is because he's caught one pass thrown over ten yards in the air. He's not as dynamic a runner after the catch as he used to be so I wouldn't expect those smoke passes he used to turn into big gains to get more than 10 yards very often.

Here is Steve's breakdown of stats entering week 5 of the season:

2011 - 530 Yards

2012 - 348 Yards

He is currently at 103 yards through 2 games. Best case scenario he gets 100 yards this Sunday, he will have 203 total yards, have a bye week and then enter week 5 with a total of 203 yards receiving.

2 Games might be a small sample size but lets not kid ourselves and expect him to go 100+ for the rest of the season.

I think my point really is not more about Steve but rather the type of plays being called on offense (Shula).

Cam has thus far been inaccurate on any pass that is not a 9 yard curl or swing pass to Olsen, no the 40 YD TD to Ginn doesn't count because he was standing still in the endzone for ten mintues before Cam threw the ball. Hard to pick up the big yardage with those little routes on the sideline, why the hell is Smitty not going over the middle with a whole field to work with?
