There's something wrong with this. I understand the policy, but to fine him out of the blue for something that has been slipping through the cracks for over 2 years is ridiculous. All because of a dumb fuging article on the Internet.

He broke the rule, probably knowingly, there needs to be some punishment.

I don't know how many of you are Archer fans but the NFL's reasoning is like the reverse of Sterlings black Turtle neck joke.

 

NFL- Cam we are fining you because your Face-mask makes the clips slightly more noticeable than the other face-mask on your teasm.

As fun as a twitter bombing is, the proper way to handle this would be writting up a decent sized article for the front page here about how the league is singling out Newton on this. Then we all share said article on various social media outlets and generate a good amount of traffic for it. With some decent SEO we could maybe get it to show up in search results above all these other articles about this. Then someone with media credintials would have firepower and motivation to contact the league for an official statement on why they seem to be persecuting one player over what seems to be a league wide "problem".
