Even with success is this d-lows last stand?

I shouldn't be amazed that not one week after DWill had the 4th best rushing yardage in the league and the huddle is still looking for a way to cut him.

But here I am, amazed.

In a vain attempt to kill this thread..

The appropriate time to worry about DWill's contract is February.

Yes, he's 30 and no team would trade for him.

JStew hasn't played a down this year for us, lets see if he can actually run after his surgery before you clamor for a release of your workhorse running back.

DWill reworked his contract for us, he's not the money pit you may believe he is, Besides it's WEEK 4 and the cap is what it is.

DeAngelo a great running back, possibly the best that this team has ever had.

Stop trying to throw him out the door after the first quarter of the season.

He isn't the 4th best RB in the league....

Comments like this is why fans get deemed haters...b/c it can't help but be corrected/called out

Who is trying to throw him out the door? I'm so impressed with him lately I' m just trying to see if there is any scenario where this current deal is voided or reworked to keep him here. The huddle is so full of noobs and self righteous dicks I never got to get a honest discussion.

He will be 31 next year. We need to be thinking about going young.....not holding on to the past

Let's see....

His restructured deal makes it easier to keep him.

He's one of the leading ground gainers in the league right now.

Aaaaand Stewart is perpetually hurt.

But it's "a foregone conclusion that this season is where the buck stops for Williams."

Yeah, there's some solid logic

Don't hold your breath on Stewart's return this season… or ever.  Sure, the Panthers are saying all is well with his recovery, but I'll believe it when I see it.  And if he can't go this season, what makes you think he's not expendable? His contract? Gettleman will eat that if he thinks it's best for the long-term; we've seen him do that already.  No, DeAngelo's release/trade isn't a foregone conclusion, not as long as Stewart isn't reliably healthy.  And that, as we've seen, IS a foregone conclusion.

how about to just play wait and see...things change from week to week. D-Will is old for a running back but he has low game miles because has shared carries his entire career. I dont think its out of the question that we can get a few more years old of him unless something better comes along or stewart magic gets healthy

    • I tend to look at all of these guys and wonder how committed they are to doing special teams? It's a big deal when you're fighting for roster spots. And we need massive refreshes to all phases of the special teams game. And the idea that four or five of these players could see rotational use outside of special teams would be a win. This team has accumulated quite a bit of dead wood over the last five years and its time to take an axe to some of it. These new fellows have a shot to benefit from that if they can really push. That being said, wow that receivers room is crowded right now. I'm not sure if I was a vet player with more than 2 years experience other than Adam Thielen if I'd be too sure of my future here. Tet is guaranteed a spot, Coker earned his for sure and they aren't done with XL developing yet. That's only two to three spots left for the entire room. It's going to be very competitive and better for Bryce's future, too. Safety and linebacker are the opportunity spots here this season. There's room for the right guy and we may see a starter eventually from one of these UDFAs, either by merit or injury.
    • Aho and Jarvis just gripping it too tight right now. Relax, play their 200 ft game and the shots will start to find the net. Freddie has been excellent and welcome back Mista Svechnikov. Burns.....well, thank goodness for Slavin.
    • Supposedly he plans on staying in college for all 4 years.
