Beason traded?

Still not official... And I hope it's for a 5th

How long does a physical take? And if he fails it will he fly to Arizona? Surely we won't cut him.

Hell I'm sure Foxy would have given us more for Beason! We probably didn't even shop him. Gettleman just called NY.... We will likely never know either way

And does anybody else find it ironic that Glazer is getting the credit for breaking the story when there were like 5 low level unofficial twitter accounts that broke it.

@Lisa 24-7 and @CLTCelebs or somin. Every single story I have read credits Glazer. I just chuckle. The entire media was scooped by low level twits. The irony

Damn it Chuck...I'm suprised anyone is willing to give up anything for Jon Beason at this point. He is banged up and looks like a 40 year old man on the field. We couldn't keep him on the team on the bench, much like the Delhomme thing..no former leaders on the bench..doesn't work. This is not about what we get either...this is about setting Jon up with a chance to compete at the Mike...fug the compensation...David Gettleman is showing a ton of respect for Jon Beason by letting him go.

There is some dumb up in this thread.

Beason needed to go, we needed to move on, the same with DWill and Stew.

Only decent contract toward the end of Hurney is Johnson.

The sooner we move on from a couple of the "core" players the better off we will be long term.

Gman is showing that he's willing to help his former team out. Healthy or not, Beason is probably the best LB the Giants has touched since Antonio Pierce. What do we get out of it? A damn late pick. Someone who is probably going to be on the PS.

how do u know that none of us know?

because some things are and some things are not.

cause things that are not can't be because then fuging nothing wouldn't be! You can't have fuging nothing isn't and everything is! Because if nothing was then there'd be like giants heads with huge top hats!

    • It's not impossible to go from worst to first.  We kept Evero because anyone in there right mind knew our defense was destroyed by injuries, not the scheme.  Evero has been given a plethora of talent between free agency and the draft, not to mention getting DB back. I fully expect our defense to be very good.  I have no reason to think Jones would say something like that unless he truly felt like that.
    • We would’ve played Florida and lost in the 1st instead of the 3rd round.  Montreal would have been the 8 seed.
    • I can't get behind a purely subjective re-draft as a method of defining "top-10 QB" status. That invites bias based on vibes/hypotheticals and can ignore actual on-field performance. You and others have said that Bryce has to be a top-10 QB to justify the pick. That's a high bar, which I'm not against, but we need a clear, consistent way to measure it. When I bring up metrics that Bryce has registered in the top-10 in like BTT%, P2S ratio, catchable deep ball rate, etc... they're waved off as either irrelevant or the expected baseline performance. Meanwhile, volume stats like passing yards or win-loss records, both of which depend heavily on roster talent, health, and coaching, are treated as definitive. That's where the inconsistency kicks in. If no performance metric ever counts in his favor and the answer is always going to be "he should be doing that," then we're not evaluating him... we're just holding him to a curve he can't win against. If this is really about performance standards, then let's define them. But if it's just about confirming prior takes based on height and weight, then let's call it what is it and stop pretending that this is a football analysis discussion.
