Useless notes from the Stadium.

Awesomeness!!

First of all, wow. That was my first time going to a NFL game, and even though we lost, and I'm pissed I'm out of a hundred bucks it was a nice life moment, I guess. When I first got into the stadium, the first player I saw was Steve Smith. Its funny because this is the guy I grew up idolizing, and here he was. He is a short little dude. Next to him stood Cam Newton, he is fuging HUGEE. That was cool.

Anyway, to all of you idiots that are determined to put this L on Cam, listen up. Cam Newton is a good NFL QB. On 99% of our plays, he went through his progressions. The ONLY play I saw him stare down his WR was the pick in the redzone (He burned a whole through the 8 and the 9 on Steve Smiths jersey. Other than that, you could actually see his head turn to make his reads. The problem was most of the day, there was nothing open down field. My GF's 66 year old mom, who enjoys football about as much as she enjoys doing her taxes turned to me and said "He has no time to throw the damn ball!". They were all over Cam. I get really tired of our "fans" bashing the man every time we lose. Yes, Cam can be poo at times, but he is a good NFL QB, and he is our future.

That being said, I love Steve Smith, but he needs to restructure and get moved to the slot tomorrow. Its called being 34.

I don't know how many times Armanti entered the game, but I actually saw him run on the field on that play Cam targeted him. I watched him run his route. It was sloppy. It looked broken. HE looked broken. Armanti reminded me of that guy in middle school that only gets picked up to even out the teams. Jesus.

I would turn ghey for Keek.

Never move to Glendale.

For a second, I thought Ron Rivera was a tree dressed in Carolina colors. How did we get stuck with such a useless coach?

For some reason we have a ton  of support in Arizona. There was a lot of blue in the stadium. However, after the game, you could see the dejection on our faces. Our franchise is in a sad..sad place right now.

At some point we have to stop making excuses and just accept that Cam can really suck at times. It wasn't the coaches, it wasn't the offensive line. Cam sucked today. He held the ball for an eternity on literally every snap. It was a miracle we moved the ball at all. He made bad throws and he has consistently taken bad sacks for the past three seasons. Drive killing sacks. Sacks that move us out of field goal range. Sacks that results in turnovers. That is on him. He has plenty of time to throw the ball away and try again next play.
Exhibit A of said huddlers.

Thanks for repping, N-A. And thanks for the insights. Being at a game gives you a different perspective than watching it on tv, I know. Our resident couch potatoes don't get that.

You really don't get a feel for everything that goes on while watching TV. Its crazy. When you see the bigger picture it because apparent that our team seriously just lacks talent where we need to have it.

I had a good time there today despite the outcome of the game. That stadium is truly amazing and worth visiting for anyone. Good to see JayFlip and DFive as well.

Always good seeing you brother. You showed up right as we de-escalated a fight that sure seemed imminent.

Yep, being at a game changes your perspective on several things. The TV angle always focuses on the QB after the snap. You sometimes can't see what the O Line is doing, much less the receivers.

Armanti - he just plain looks awkward running in person - its like he's trying to high step and stretch his stride at the same time.

I don't think I've ever once paid attention to RR at a game.

Meh

That stadium in an icebox man. They cranked up the AC like it was the midxle of summer.

Some old guy with a cane and a younger dude taunting me after they scored a TD....fml

10 min after I bought my ticket outside, a panther fan comes up to me and asks if I needed his extra ticket. It was that kinda day.

I've always been a big Rivera supporter, but there is a reason Rivera was 0-4 (I think) in HC interviews before he got this job. Nice guy, but dude is not an NFL coach right now.

Cam's NFL career right now is at a crossroads. Either some new coach will come in and let him be Cam and make plays, or he will leave us and light it up somewhere or [gulp] this may be as good as it gets for him. I want him to suceed with us. I also want a million dollars too.

There... I fixed it for you. =

I also started out as a Chico supporter. Hurts my heart to see such a good guy suck it up so bad. I had so many high hopes for him. Maybe some guys are just meant to be coordinators and not head coaches.

RR was more like 0-9 in head coaching interviews before JR hired him.  Whatever JR thought he saw/heard in RR to give him the job, I can't imagine.  After he leaves Carolina he likely will never interview for a head coaching job for the rest of his career.  He will probably have to go back to coaching LBs for someone else before he gets another DC shot.  But as far as HC, this guy has been consistently out of his league.

Arians most def out-coached Ron in that game.  No doubt about it.  The Cards D is for real, but we could have been up by 10 or more on them in the first half.  No intensity, no focus, no real game plan, no adjustments, just no...
