DE Robinson gets 4 year 28 million max.....so Hardy?

I'm considering his athleticism as well. He can flat out run (predicting a low 4.5). Bridgewater is not a pure pocket passer in the sense that Louisville uses the fugging Read-Option on every 5-6 snaps. Have YOU seen him play? I'll say this though, Teddy will likely not see much of the Read-Option or Pistol. He's running a Pro-Ready offense.

Yes, I spend most of my time working in Louisville. Watch him, read any single article about him, look at his stats. Hes a pocket passer nothing at all like rg3. Hes compared to Luck.

I hope he walks. We spent ourselves into oblivion on the same "core" Hurney players from the Fox 2-14 era and all we have to show for it is a 14-22 record for three seasons. If Hardy beasts out and we make a run for the wild card, fine recsign him. But if we have another losing season, its time for Gettleman to Jacksnville Jaguars this mofo and start a full on rebuild. Tired of signing "core" players from losing seasons.

Why would you want him to walk? I understand that we should not over pay but wanting him to walk..no way

if we lose either of the next two games, then trade Hardy, if deemed to want monster contract.  pick up draft pick

Do we know what kind of money he is looking for? I thought the offer was reasonable maybe 35 million tops is what he should get. I think it is smart fishing his expectations out now so we can trade him if they are unreasonable. What trade value do you think we would get?

My expectations were shot for the team after the Cardinal game.

where's it been reported that he turned down a 32 million dollar offer? anyone have a link?

It was on local radio. There's a thread on it somewhere.

I wasn't that high on him based on the level of competition he's faced, but from what I saw of him last night he looked great.

(no, I'm not advocating replacing Newton with him)

I'd trade Hardy for a 2 or a 3 and some change so damn fast right now.

Make the dude a fair offer, not CJ money, but a fair offer for what he has done and can do. If he accepts it, great, if not: move him for an asset.

No point in even trying to guess what his contract will be. Gettleman will get it done; the. We'll find out the details and one way or another here everyone will think it's "the worst deal ever" or " a steal". No point in jumping the gun.

I'd like for us to get above .500 though. That's worth talking about

You think we can get there? As a fan I say hell yea. My gut tells me otherwise.

Hardy is worth (IMO) somewhere in the 6-8 a year range. I was hoping we'd get him at 6 (or maybe even 5) million a year but given his attitude on the matter I figured that was just wishful thinking.

If he's already turned down 8 million a year then we need to start shopping him. Get a 1st or 2nd from a team looking to win the super bowl this year and thinking he's the one missing piece to make it happen.

Of course we can always franchise him and delay this for a year. I think that's what most likely will end up happening.

I think we all just like Hardy because of his persona, and how he came on here and hung out.

He has talent but I notice him disappearing in games and I just wonder if a lot of his success is because CJ is getting double teamed.  Meaning, not sure he's worth more than what we have offered, or even that.   It'll come down to how he produces this season too, but I wouldn't mind trading him for pick(s).  We need those.  We need to get OL help, WR help, and DB help.  I'd rather use the money on a offensive weapon or a good CB than put tons of money in the DE position.

    • Appreciate that, bro!  And I could definitely see that with Cam.  Even though he’s a little younger than me, he is also someone I admire and feel a kinship with for a lot of various reasons. Funny enough, a few years after that encounter with Steve, I went to Charlotte with one of my friends whose brothers owned a moving company at the time.  He dropped me off uptown and went to work the day with them where I would wait until he got done and then we were gonna go to the Bobcats game that night.  So I walk all through that area for hours.  After awhile, I walk back towards the arena and sit in a bench on the backside of the arena, where the practice court and player’s entrance was.  As I’m sitting there, I look up and almost think I’m seeing things - I squint and blink my eyes a couple times just to be sure, and yes…  it’s one of my childhood heroes, Muggsy Bogues walking across the crosswalk and into the arena.  I think he was coaching the Sting then, iirc.  Part of me wanted to just say, “Hey!  Muggsy!  Thank you for the inspiration and memories!  You were one of my favorite players as a kid!”  But, I just watched him walk by and into the arena and thought, “that was cool!”  I also so Miguel Cotto a couple years back while in Orlando and told my kids who it was but didn’t say anything to him.  I think somewhere in my subconscious, that encounter with Steve really made me feel like the gamble on finding out if they’re receptive to interaction just isn’t worth finding out.  At the end of the day, no matter if they’re receptive inspired us or were a hero, unless they initiate it, I likely never will…  because again, they’re humans just like us.  Not anymore unique or special, they just have a highly visible and very public job that we get to watch and in some ways participate.  So, I just appreciate it for what it is.
    • I'm pleasantly surprised they gave it to Bryce Young over Josh Allen. Finally we're getting some respect. Now I'm just hoping the team follows this up accordingly and doesn't lay another egg.
    • What weird blood red moon has cast its spell?  What’s next, dogs and cats sleeping together? Bonus question:  Did Canales open up his playbook or did Bryce find an extra high gear in his stick shift?
