I hope AP gets KTFO this game...

Just catching up on some reading this morning. I am a bit behind on the Adrian Peterson's son and the situation.

Its tragic when any child dies. His mother deserves all the support in the world.

But as far as AP is concerned, he is a dead beat loser. I hope he gets KTFO today. When you deny the child is yours for years and then acknowledge him only when forced to after a court confirms the DNA result is a cowardly irresponsible and cruel thing to do to a kid.

"Football is something I will always fall back on," he said. ”It gets me through tough times. Just being around the guys in here, that's what I need in my life, guys supporting me and just being able to go out and play this game I love. Things that I go through, I've said a thousand times, it helps me play this game to a different level. I'm able to kind of release a lot of my stress through this sport, so that's what I plan on doing."

Stress? Stress is raising a kid on your own while the father is making millions and denying any responsibility.

Sorry AP, you get zero sympathy. You weren't a father to him in life, you don't deserve anything in his death.

UPDATED....

Just read the article that says he did not know the child existed and was his until 3 months ago. Apparently he was planning to see him later this month. So I recant my previous statement. Still, its strange that he finds out in early July that he has a son, while nothing NFL related is happening, and doesn't plan on seeing him for 4 months. I'd like to think if I was a multimillionaire on vacation in the same situation I would act a little quicker. But you know, we can't judge. We can never judge.

Feel bad for AP and his family

Feel bad for the kids mother? You bet.

Feel bad for AP, hell no.

IMHO, he shoulders some of the blame for what happened to the kid. Maybe if he manned up and took responsibility the kid would have been raised under better conditions.

AP = Garbage.

ESPN and NFL network perpetuate this myth.

Its gonna make a good story if he runs for 250 and 3 TD's.

The facts don't matter.

Yup. I called this in another thread. Regardless of how much AP was in his son's life, the sensationalist media always loves a story like this....and so does the NFL. Personal tragedy into personal triumph. Americans eat that poo up.

Remember last year vs the Chiefs? There were serious conversations being made about cancelling the game after the murder/suicide committed by the LB. Instead, the worst team in the league (record wise), which has been around since the inception of the NFL, was a delay of game penalty away from having their first unpenalized game in the history of their team.

I'm convinced that the refs are going to be extra lenient towards the Vikes today and will do everything in their power for the Vikes to win and for AP to have a monster game. If the Panthers so much as pass gas in the wrong direction, punt the ball too high, or look at someone wrong ...expect serious consequences. It's just the invisible hand of the NFL spreading propaganda and creating a "story".

I was under the impression that Adrian found out the existence of his son 2 or 3 months ago.  That he didn't oppose the claim but supported the mother monetarily.  Also that they were planning to set up a get together before the incident.  Where are the sources that says Adrian knew about him for two years and combatted being the father?

Thanks for having the balls to say this. AP isn't the victim that the media makes him out to be. The child is the only victim.

Yup. But the media loves a story like this and if Peterson blows up today and carries his team to a W against the 1-4 Panthers, he's going to get some man of the year nominations. fuging stupid.

    • I like what Freeling brings to the table all around. If he is willing to put in the work he has an opportunity to be one of the better Tackles in the league down the line. Hunter Brazzell and Hecht are all premium additions but development from our staff are the key to unlocking them. Hopefully Lee and Wheatley will provide much needed additional depth to our secondary. Beyond that it's important not to get too caught up in draft grades. Many drafts over the years that turned out to be really good were not fawned over with praise. While some that were ended up being historical duds. Panthers fans ought to know this as well as anyone. In conclusion...
    • Maybe a bit of a homer take but I can't give us a grade lower than A.   Freeling was arguably the best LT prospect in the draft.  His athletic ability is off the chart and at 6'7" that can move.  It was a no brainer pick.   Hunter's key word is Violence. Putting him next to Brown should scare an offensive coordinator. These two give Scourton and Phillips plenty of chances to get one on one opportunities. Brazzell, another tall receiver with sprinter speed.  Our WR room is filled with tall talented WR.  Brazzell is going to give us a WR that can take to roof off the defense.  Basically Jimmy Horn with size. W. Lee III has a nickname of the Blanket. (heard this on the Beleav podcast with J. Stewart)  What a great name.  A great value in the 5th round. Hecht A strong, fast and extremely smart center. Many had him listed as the best center in the draft.  He's most likely a starter sooner than later. Wheatley A good safety in round 5.  Someone who could see playing time.   Kuwatch  I love this pick.  At minimum he will be a key piece on special teams and with some good coaching he'll see some packages where he'll play.  His down piece is he doesn't stay up in the running game.  Good coaching will fix this.  He reminds me a bit of A.J. Klein.   All these picks were great value.  I believe everyone of them were graded higher than the pick we took them.   Dan Morgan is IMO doing a great job turning this team into a good team with great depth.
