Please tell me how he has improved. We beat two bad teams and have lost to 2 others. Its week 6 and we arent even at .500. If he is vastly improved then wtf happend last year?!

Keep hating. Ron isn't going anywhere.

I think Ron knows how to win the easy ones. It will be interesting to see if he can win some close games.

I wouldn't think too hard about a coaching change until we're eliminated from the playoffs.

Ron has improved his coaching when it comes to managing the game especially in the first half and he seems committed to ensuring that our first drive results in a TD.  Our offense demoralized the Vikings with that first drive and it carried through for the rest of the game.

The real test for RR will be when he has to make tough decisions in the 4th quarter.  The real test for this team will be when they actually do have a chance to win in the 4th quarter.  We look good when we blow teams out and run away in the second half (I do so love a good lopsided Panthers' victory), but we will never ascend to the next level of being a playoff caliber team until we can pull out wins late in games.  So far this year we have failed when faced with a close game in the second half.  Ironically our best game in that situation was against Seattle, but it only took 2 plays (the long TD pass by Wilson and the D-WIll fumble) to sink us.

I am encouraged by what I see in terms of us beating crappy teams, but when are we going to put it all together and beat a good team with either a huge TD drive or a huge defensive stop in the 4th?  When that happens, then I can go along with statements that project us into the playoffs.

Winning late is the last obstacle that RR and Cam have to overcome before we are a legit threat in this league.  I have a feeling the Rams game will present that scenario.

I'm not sitting here complaining about this win.

I'm simply refusing to get my hopes up about this season and I am stating the facts as to why. I've already seen this exact thing happen the last two games, a convincing win which gets me pumped, and a very deflating loss.

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me kind of thing.

Perhaps I seem like pessimist and i regret the way i presented my arguments but again I simply am not convinced. When the pressure is on we choke. If we start winning close games consistently then i will be convinced.

Put me in the group of people that arent going to get too high off of this win, but I definetely see the potential of this team when they play smart football.  We have a very good team folks, but they always seem to beat themselves.  The Giants and Vikings both are horrible, but we beat them badly like good teams do.

Its just a matter of getting consistent.  If we become consistent, we will be one of the best teams in the league.

I am not the pessimist this single thread suggests. Perhaps its the lack of sleep and an extremely stressful test i have to take in an hour is why my jabs at this win are so sharp. Forgive a fellow. didn't prelude and express the opinions

You're fine.

Many of us completely understand how you feel, where you're coming from. No worries.

The next two games will be pressure games, where the Panthers can go 4-3 in the sucky NFC.

Let's see how Ron Ron handles the next two games when they may actually mean something??

Agreed. I'm happy for the win. But we'd all be crazy if we thought Ron Ron automatically turned the corner after the recent Buffalo debacle (and the fact his team look unprepared after another bye last week against the Cardinals).

Ok good for you, now stop trying so hard to convince us to do the same.

    • I didn't move the goal posts. But anyone who follows football who wants to engage in a rational discussion can't argue that 10 7th round picks are equal to 10 1st rounders in value. The argument has always been we haven't spent as much on defense has we have on offense. Draft picks have value just like salary. We have not spent the same amount of draft pick salary cap on defense that we have on offense since drafting Bryce. It's not even close. Just the 2 1sts we used on Bryce, 2 overall 1sts have a value of 6000. That doesn’t even factor in DJ Moore or the 2 2nds. Bryce cost more than everything we've spent on defense in 6 damn years.
    • We need to hope this scenario plays our next week he fails with pressure…what that means with Evero, is beyond me
    • Woukd be a great addition You know the issues from my prespective, 2 things the Panthers must do 1. Edge or pass rushers or 2 oline or 3 oline or as Andy Reid says, when in doubt, draft a lineman it is time   That oline is troubling plus a small person at QB  they   1. Can do a lot better than mayes at center, 2. and lewis has had injuries all season. 3. Moton should not have  been resigned long term, 4. corbett is a shadow and will probably be released  5 and Christianson coming off Achilles   6 and the kicker, would be Ickey’s contract if they decide to keep him INMO rookie and contracts will be needed to offset all that
