What Ram fans are saying

Jackofalltrades

Recommended Posts

okay, I went back and looked.  I can't keep you Rams guys straight.  StonecoldTavon was the one making claims that were too bold...not you.

I think your pass attack matches up well.  I have said it since week 1 when I looked at the season.....worst matchups for our D were Buffalo, you guys, and the Pats.  All heavily emphasize the short pass attack.

I don't think you match up good defensively.  A primarly front 4 rush attack that can't stop the run....isn't what gives Newton issues.   If your short pass isn't clicking I am not sure what other option you have.

No worries...happens to me all the time.  I even misquote myself from time to time.   :phew:

I think our D may surprise, at least I hope so.  And I agree that we will need to be efficient in the passing game.  I just don't agree that the short pass is all we will be able execute.

Here's to a good clean game with no injuries!

I may be the problem here.  I was defining "pressure" as when the D rushed 5 or more, blitzing would have been a more accurate term.

You are spot on in your evaluation of the SF game.  It was a total disaster.  The good news is it forced our OC to become less one dimensional and the team has responded with 2 wins since.  You don't have to tell me who the opponents were but in spite of Houston's current woes on offense (largely created by playing against the NFCW) their D was and still is highly ranked in many categories.

I'm thinking/hoping our D is coming together under our new D coordinator.  We've got to get better in run D.  It's mostly a lack of gap discipline leading to big runs that have killed us, particularly against the cut back.

and how much of you being less one dimensional for 2 weeks.....has to do with the fact you got matched up with the 32nd and 25th ranked rush Ds?

Wow that kind of makes it sound like your offense is capable of setting up any attack. Can you really say that? For your sake the Rams better exploit where we're weak and not try to be cute against this D. If you guys want to have a prayer of a chance against this team, that O needs to be setting us up for whatever they do best. That looks like running to me.

Youre going against one the nastiest front 7's in the league. Good luck on Sunday :)

I honestly believe we have to talent to be multidimensional on O.  Now we just need to show it.   :zoro:

Our team is very young and I think what we have see so far are growing pains, like T. Austin dropping 7 very catchable passes or having ~300 yards & a TD in return yardage called back by penalties ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE FIELD!  (drives me crazy)

Sunday should be fun.  Good luck to you as well.

Very little actually, IMO.  I believe that Fisher was going to (at least attempt to) establish a run game even if he'd been facing the Spartan Army.

i think ya'll are being a bit premature on Austin...

he's gonna be fine in the long run imo.

And the only thing that you're basing this on is a hunch. It's certainly not his production---his ability to hang on to the ball (7 drops in 20 something attempts), and, more importantly, get open.  He has even disappointed in the return game (running backwards).

This is big big boy football. Austin was a novel idea, but he doesn't have that  ge ne sais quoi of a D-Jax who came firing out of the gate.

And you're basing it on 5 games and a noncreative OC.

I think he will be fine becasue of his talent alone. He needs time to adjust. It could go either way. But both are hunches at this point. 5 games into his rookie year and some people are already claiming him a bust. it's ridiculous.

I don't think your D is going to surprise anybody. Our offense has struggled minus two games. Shula could come out and totally brain-fart this game and I will not be surprised. The right side of our oline is probably one of the worst in the NFL. The Rams D having a strong showing, sadly, will not surprise many Panther fans.

He's actually been targeted 34 times but the drops are still concerning.  It seems he's trying to do too much before securing the ball but his receiving % is right on par with the likes of your own S. Smith and A.J. Green.  The larger issue is the ypc, but I believe part of this lies in the type of targets he has received.

I don't think we struggled against Seattle....we methodical.  People didn't like it but we had a strong gameplan against a good D......one late fumble by Williams just screwed it all up.

Shula IMO has been pretty strong this year.  Players just need to quit pooping the bed.  He isn't a world beater but his gameplans outside of Buffalo have been good mostly.  Especially in the first half of games.  We are built to front run.....so that is a good thing about Shula

    • I disagree. “The system” did not fail. It’s what gets us to the playoffs and has us competing in every series. The system dominated 5v5. Freddie and Special Teams cost the Canes this series. The injuries of Pesce and Fast definitely impacted the effectiveness of the PK.
