Please Lose the Read Option

People moaning about the read option are moaning about the wrong stuff....

Read option was an issue for 4 games in 2012, that was it. Overused for 4 freaking games in Newton career.

Play should remain. It works.

2 or 3 times a game.  Too much for a basically non productive play. I know it was used last week.

IMO, its actually been fairly successful this year. Its a run play, and I bet we are averaging more than 4 ypc on it. Its a good play as long as we use on a limited basis.

It's the threat of the read option.  Teams have to prepare for it.  It works when executed properly. It hasn't nearly been as bad as the last year.  Calm down.

Interesting thread....I seem to remember most posters on the board screaming about 12-18 months ago that the read option was going to take over and transform the nfl...and that it should be the focus of our offense.
