Does anyone else have an uneasy feeling about tonight?

Not at all. I understand people have this weird fetish where they think they have to spout cliched press conference lines so they don't mess with the juju of the team, but what it comes down to tonight is either the Panthers go out there and handle business as they are supposed to and win or Ron Rivera and Mike Shula clearly have no place here. It really is that cut and dry. If you can't beat a team like this, with the talent disparity and all the other extracurricular factors, then you have no place in this league.

We should beat them down.

I was literally about to say yes when I read the thread title until I clicked and saw your post up top. You absolutely changed my mind and I couldn't agree more. Well said and props to you.

**And I had to add I should expect nothing less from a person who adopted Smitty

oh yeah for sure. If we play shitty and lose, everyone will continue to throw our name in the trash, deservingly I guess. We havent done much on primetime in the last few years. I wish we would bring out some cool ass Unis for this one if the PR department was smart. Make kids tune in for the unis and see us make a big play and they will stay on it.

What makes him a pretty good QB?

What I like about him is his accuracy. He can put the ball in just the right spot where only the receiver has a chance at it. He has a big arm as well and he's not afraid to go deep. Also, he's not the puss that some fans seem to think because he's skinny and lanky. He will flat out stand in the pocket with a defensive lineman flying at him, and deliver a strike and take the hit as he's releasing the ball. We need to bring our A game and think we will.

Let's see....

It's the Carolina Panthers....

... the Panthers of 4 winning seasons in 18 years

... the Panthers who have not been above .500 since December 2008

... the Panthers coming off a short week

... the Panthers who still have yet to establish an identity

... the Panthers who are still the most inconsistent team in the expansion era of the NFL?

Yes, every game the Panthers play gives me an uneasy feeling.

Every Thursday night game is usually ugly and this will be no exception.  Plus tampa is giving up a 92 passer rating to other quarterbacks.  I don't think it will be the blowout some folks do but I think we will win.  I was a little worried last week when St Louis climbed back to 20-12 last week but then saw the offense dominate and score.  I really get the feeling we have turned a corner.  I hope I am right.

dunno. There's a buc site that did an ALL-22 on Glennon and basically said if he keeps waiting til his receivers make their breaks before releasing, he's gonna start throwing pick-6's. Glennon played OK last week, but Atlanta's defense is awful. ATL's D has been awful all year.

He throws a deadly back shoulder fade. He's very accurate over the middle on crossing routes, and he can go deep. Now if his timing is off and he's out of sync with his receivers then it all falls apart. His lack of experience is to our advantage of course.

The book on Glennon is his deep ball accuracy is poor. Most analysts don't believe he can burn a defense deep.

We'll see if that's true tonight.

    • Wanting that type of play and being okay with paying $55 million a season for it are two entirely different things. If Bryce were to become the same player Purdy has been, then he would surpass my expectations of him and I'd be okay with him as our QB of the future (and again, I've long been one of the bigger anti Bryce people here who doesn't think he is capable of being our long term solution). But in no world would I be okay with paying him THAT kind of money, paying an average starter elite money is just a terrible decision.
    • I don't think they can overcome that mistake. Hell Lance was a hiccup compared to this. He isn't going to be able to carry that price tag and now he is going to have to do just that. Lol. The NFL is so dumb sometimes.
    • So, one could say that T-Mac is quicker than someone of his size should be and while he might not be quite as fast as Evans in the 40, he's more athletic than Evans. If only someone, anyone, could have seen that in his tape and mentioned that on here, hmmmmmmm In all seriousness, hearing he tested in the 89th percentile in that drill at his size is crazy impressive.  Just tried to look up the times of the top WRs in the league right now, most don't show at time for that, but I did see Chase ran his in 7 seconds flat. I honestly don't know how true this is, but I do remember seeing one breakdown of his tape and the person said he has quiet and efficient feet.  That he's really good at using the minimal steps possible to make his cuts and because of that, it actually makes him look slower to the human eye because you don't see all the quick chop steps that the guys like Tyreek would use in their running. I'm still in a state of disbelief that he's a Panther and it might not fully hit me until week 1 and I see him out there making plays for us, still feels like Goodell is going to just be like, "YOU GOT PUNKED!!!  hahaha, he's a Cowboy now, suck it"
