Domenik Hixon?

Why do guys think that our #4 WR should be putting up big numbers? Really #5 when you consider the fact that we use Olsen as a defacto WR also.

Nobody said big numbers.

But if you are the 4th receiver, with Cam Newton as your QB, you should be getting involved more often and AT LEAST making somewhat of an impact.

This is a Shula issue too. We need to run se 5 wide sets. This is a passing league.

Considering that a good amount of our offense is run out of a 2 TE and/or 2 RB set with a healthy running game and that WRs 1-3 are productive, I see no reason that a 4th WR would see significant non-ST time on the field.  Your assertion that not running 5 WR on the field means you're not running a productive passing game is ridiculous.

It was either him, Pilaris, Joe Adams, or Armanti.

I think it's safe to say Hixon is better than anyone of those guys, and it's arguable if any of the three cut would have even caught a pass yet.

Seriously, Tolbert catches more passes than our third receiver some games. With so many pass catchers everywhere he won't have much of an opportunity. It'd be nice to involve him a little more, but he's clearly on the roster as a solid backup. Ginn can't be on the field enough, anyway, and same goes for Lafell and Smitty. We're fine there.

Should we have beaten the seahawks? Yes. DWills fumble at the 8 yrd line cost us

Should we have beaten the bills? Yes. Fug this game was sickening

Theres a very very VERY good chance that we would be 6-1 right now. Are we a full-on "passing team"? Not even close. I do believe that as a whole the NFL has become a "passing league." But u have to take things on a game by game basis. We are destroying teams by having long methodical drives. Runs, Short passes and 3rd down conversions are what we do. Coming out in 5 WR sets a lot would be dumb. We have 1 good WR, a solid #2, and a speed guy with no hands. So youd take DWil land Tolbert out of the game so u can put in Hixon and Gettis? No thanks. We are playing great now and utilizing our players effectively.

The vikings made the playoffs last year with the 2nd worst QB in the league (no im not saying we should be like that. Just showing u that things have to be taken on a game by game basis, and not generalized). The Chiefs have the best record in football this year with a strong defense and emphasis on the running and short pass game. Sound familiar?

    • I wonder if they'd consider trading Rasheed Walker to a team that needs tackle help but missed out in the draft?
    • LOL. This is such a Panthers fan take.  Anyone who falls to us must suck because some other team didn't take them before.  We got lucky with Lemon, Thieneman, and Freeling all falling to us (honestly any of the three is a A+) but the WR and S positions are much deeper than the LT position in this draft.  We got the LT w/ the most upside at 19.  Mauigoa played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the nfl.  Spano played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the NFL due to short arms.  Blake Miller played RT in college and is not as good as Freeling.  Proctor is a true LT but his ability to handle quick edge's worries me (see Icky).  Freeling is a true LT and a gifted pass protector.  Many think he has a very high ceiling and will benefit from not having to start right away.  This is how you build a franchise.
    • After watching Cam get killed for years behind a bad Oline and having to watch the 2021 and 2023 Olines I will never complain about this team putting resources into that spot.  We got a true LT who could really push Rasheed Walker for the day 1 job. Go back and watch Iceky's draft profile from 2022 and all the talk was Ickey would be an all-pro guard in a zone blocking scheme, but he could play LT in a gap power run scheme. That's why Ickey looked really good when Wilks took over and we just started running gap run plays and just mauled people up front but under Canales we've been more of a zone running team. Ickey can survive at LT with his pass blocking but his true strength will always be his ability to just move guys in the run game and that's a skill set that's better used at guard.  Take another OT later on day 3 to learn from Moton to take over RT in a couple of years and let Walker and Freeling battle it out for the day 1 LT job then next offseason trade one of Hunt of Lewis and let Ickey move inside to guard.
