Most fascinating team for the next 8 weeks = CAR

I'm ready for anything with the Carolina Panthers. They could make the Super Bowl or finish 7-9. Riverboat Ron Rivera could be calling for fourth down conversions with the best defense in football or he could shrink in the big moments, like he has so many times before.

The Panthers, like Cam Newton, can be a moody team. They can be a bully and can play like they are afraid of success. When they are right, they can steamroll opponents with Newton's big arm and a power running game. But we haven't seen them come through in a big spot yet. We'll get our chances in the second half; they face the 49ers, Patriots and the Saints twice. All of those games are must watch. Which reminds me ...

Favorite teams to watch

1. Carolina Panthers

2. Detroit Lions

3. San Diego Chargers

4. Seattle Seahawks

5. Indianapolis Colts

This will be me if we make the superbowl

Lol speaking of Tavon Austin, did any of you hear lastnight the commentator talking about now Austin records the plays on his ipad and repeats it over and over again in his apartmemt and practices lining up in his apartment to each play? When Austin didnt make a play on the next down, Gruden said "That play must have not been on his ipad." I literally busted out laughing. Just the way Gruden said it, Gruden was ripping Austin a new one lastnight.

Austin really has not translated at all to the next level yet, lol

I think he will improve given time but last night Gruden was hard as fug on him hah.

The guys were basically calling him out time after time... That last drive especially where they were basically imploring him to do something big... Of course, STL's goal line playcalling left something to be desired, so...

Im so glad he didnt fall to us. Small, slot type WRs like him are a dying breed. In the next couple years you will start seeing that drafting TEs in the top 10 will be the new norm.

    • He’s also 21 years old. I don’t know why fiz is so eager to label him a bust
    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
