Make no mistake about it that is Brett Jensen, former host at WFNZ. Generally, people that have unpopular thoughts or views about local sports teams get ripped on message boards, or Twitter. That's part of the territory. And if people didn’t like my show, I hate that, but it’s normal. You literally aren’t going to make everybody happy, regardless of what stance you take on a topic, or what your personality is.

Does it suck when things being said on message boards that are completely untrue? Without question. But usually you just let it be because no good can come from getting into a peeing contest with anonymous people on the Internet.

That being said, I feel like this is one of those rare occasions that need to be addressed.

Literally, just 20 minutes ago I received a text asking me what was going on with Nate Conley and this thing over at Carolina Huddle. I literally had no clue. I click on a link and don’t fully understand what was or had been stated previously, but I gathered it had something to do with apparently me bashing WFNZ people on a message board under some fake name.

There are a few things I’d like to say about this:

+ The last thing DJ Stout told me before I walked out of the station for the final time was to not burn bridges because he’s trying to manage a way for me to return to the station in at least a writing capacity for the website, and maybe back on the air if things turn around after the new year. In fact, I was told last week that it looks as though the website thing may happen, though not definite.

So, with that said, why would I risk a possible return to the station by ripping former colleagues and current friends in a public forum? It makes zero sense. Nobody would do that, especially somebody hoping to return to the station that I’ve been a part of since 2004, when I first co-hosted with Packman.

+ As far as visiting CarolinaHuddle.com, I’m sorry to say that my visits here can be counted on one hand over the last couple of years. And posting that message or whatever it was wasn’t one of the times.

+ I would literally take a polygraph test to show it wasn’t me. I literally swear on the grave of my father, who died exactly one year ago, that it wasn’t me. There’s zero reason for me to do any of that considering what was at stake.

+ And as far as budget cuts are concerned, yes they were real. Ask the several other people that got laid off at CBS Radio the last couple of weeks if the cuts are real. I was the only one not listed as fulltime at the station because my show is only two hours. And most, in not all, part-time help was let go, including my friend Gump, sadly enough.

So, believe what you will. I can only tell you what the truth is.

And I'm sure I'll get ripped on here and called all sorts of things. That's what generally happens on message boards. But I'll take that just so the truth is out there.

I know how hard the people at the station work to put together a quality show, and there’s a reason why all of our ratings were very high. They are good people. And that, above anything else, is something all of you should know.

    • Okay then. To me that means Russell Wilson was Coryell. Because I see the proposition completely in the Russell Wilson punt/pass put it up for grabs mold. Count on the receiver to catch it or knock it down.    And the reason I thought that was the intent with Legette is the abysmal downfield game from 2023. As in, there was barely any.   I look at it as if… the result of a deep attempt isn’t as important as the opponent understanding they have to defend it. So I was all for some 50/50s. Coryell, Walsh whoever.  I do favor the Coryell approach personally but also very much value versatility, it doesn’t have to be strict. Just make the defense defend the whole field, however you do it. It has to include downfield throws.
    • Sold, or in the process of being sold. Could be either way. Consider this for a second... Last season, our defensive coordinator steered what many have called the worst defense in NFL history.  Canales would absolutely have been justified in firing him, and no one would have blamed him if he had.  But what did he do? He gave Evero another chance to come back and prove he could be better. Does that tell us something about Canales? I think it does. Now apply that to Bryce 😕
    • Canales has never been part of big YAC offenses in the NFL.  That’s not his tree.  Not in Seattle, Tampa or here.  Every O he has been associated with basically has been bottom half of the league in YAC.  That’s what Bryce needs to happen though  2 very different things….and very much gets into why the middle school QB doesn’t fit
