I'm just giving you the math. The notion that we can make the superbowl without beating a winning team is false, since we have to beat at least two to even make the playoffs, barring some weird poo that goes down that's out of our control anyway.

You win to get in the playoffs, nothing more. Of course certain teams need to win more to have a shot cause they're near undefeatable at home, and mortal on the road (Seattle, New Orleans), and a bye week gives you one less opportunity to lose, otherwise records are absolutely meaningless come Jan.

It's more your health and how well you're playing during the playoffs than your record that determine who advances in the post season.

As far as we go, I don't care if we get in cause we beat the University of Idaho and the Toronto Argonauts to get so long as we get in.

Just think if the Panthers played in the AFC EAST and not NE how many years the Panthers would have made the Playoffs in a DIV with some very bad Bills teams, weak NYJs teams, and post Dan Marino Dolphins.

The opponents the Panthers face the remainder of the year are, as of right now 36-30. Only two teams have losing records, Atlanta and Tampa. Miami is 4-4 but seems to be in a freefall with all of their problems. 

 

So it looks like the team will have to beat multiple teams with winning records to reach the playoffs this year. I know they can do it. Just wanted to take a look at what they face.

Every game in the NFL is hard, regardless of the team's record. These athletes are the cream of the crop, professional and are paid to kick butt. If you get to the Super Bowl, you have earned it, no doubt.

In that 2003 season, two of our losses to above .500 teams were avenged in the playoffs - Dallas and Philadelphia.

 

Just get in, then take care of business when it counts.
