Question about Special Teams from yesterday.

Yesterday when we were locked up inside our own 15 yard line did Nortman really punt the ball from the goal line to the opposite 20? I remember thinking holy poo at the time but I have forgotten about it since. Any one else remember this or do I need to start drinking again?

Yes he did! Nortman is a hell of a punter. I felt last year instead of letting him boot it they tried to control the cannon.

He changed his kicking style/motion a bit this off season.

I think he's simply increased his strength. Being a pro and dedicating yourself full time to the craft can do that.

It was his approach and drop that was different last year. He used a more rugby style kick last year.

This team has some aces on ST and they have bailed us out time and time and time again this year because the rest of the unit hasn't been terrific by any measure.

Truly a game of field position. Glad to have Nortman punting for us this year, he's done an excellent job.

That first punt was amazing. The next punt he had, though...not so much.

Agreed, but crow or no crow, none if us thought the kid had an 80 yard leg cannon at his disposal. That was freaking insane.

Nortman has a hell of a hang time. How strange is it that we finally have a kicker and a punter that we can fully trust. At least since Jon Kasay left. Gano's leg strength blows me away every kickoff. I watched him do a practice field goal during the vikings game from about the 20-30 and the ball went over the net into the stands. I'm pretty sure it hit a fan lol.
