Much More Confident About NE Than SF

Recommended Posts

More confident than last week and here is why:

Panthers (in four home games this season) are scoring 27.25 pts per game and allowing 9.25 pts per game :startle:

Patriots (in four road games this season) are scoring 21.75 pts per game and alowing 21.5 pts per game

The Pats have played the Bills (whom they should have lost too), the Bengals (who absolutely abused Brady and ended his TD streak), the Falcons, and the Jets (who ran all over them).  They could easily be 1-3 on the road.

We have the formula to beat Brady.  Stuff the run, force 3rd and longs, and sit him on his tail (within the rules and before the whistle....lord knows golden boy gets his fair share of flags).  In my opinon this game comes down to our offense vs thier defense.  Control the clock and score points.  Punts are not necessarily a bad thing, but turnovers will kill you against the Pats.  If we protect the ball, we've got a really good shot.  I think we will give up some yards on Monday night, but IMO, the pats points will come off the leg of Gostkowski, more so than Brady's arm.

I don't know what to think on this one. Let's play the game and see what happens. Hoping for the best. Not gonna get too up or down either way. It's 1 game. Still 6 to go after this one.

The offense is in a slump. Either they come out of it Monday, or that's it for our winning streak imo. The WRs needs to catch, Cam needs to stop with the high passes, and the o-line has to improve it's pass blocking. The defense is set, but I think the Pats are going to score a couple of TDs, Gronk in the red zone is a major problem. The offense will have to answer.

Before the SF game I thought we would have a better shot at beating NE. I didn't think we could beat SF with 10 points, but I fell damn certain we can't beat NE with 10 points. The passing game will have to come alive, or we'll have to dominate on the ground.

I said from the get go....this matchup is the worst one on our schedule for our D.  Worse than NO.

Pass rush will have to play lights out and we will need a coverage display from our unit that we have not seen to date.....we don't match up good for this one on D.   We give teams the short stuff.....and this team actually wants to take it (and does it with a HOFer).

Defense has won us games now...this one isn't up to them IMO.

MNF will be on the offense to flat out win us one IMO.

Nice to compare the Patriots offense to the Niners....

Neglecting the Fact that we have shut down Adrian Peterson, Marshawn Lynch Gronk is better than VD but VD had 1 catch for two yards...

Its really amusing that your trying to talk up the most mediocre group of weapons the pats have ever had...

Before 2007, Brady worked wonders with lesser talent than they have now.Remember the days of Brown, Patten & Smith as their go-to guys? Or 2006, with Brown, Gaffney & Reche "Bugeyes" Caldwell?

The only issue this year was starting the season with two rooks at wr. It took them a few weeks, but Brady trusts them now. With gronk at 100%, and Amendola at maybe 80%? They'll only improve from here on in. You can throw out any stats prior to the bye - it's a different offense now.

Still, I don't know if they'll win Monday. Definitely the toughest matchup of the year for them.Out of conference game, the only importance to the game for the Pats is to win for a shot at a possible 1st rd bye, possibly the #1 seed for the playoffs if they win out.

Absolutely no question of that at this point in their careers.

Gronk is the best in the league; either him  or Davis. After seeing Talib shut down Graham, I take him out of the equation. How does any guy his size allow ANY CB to shut him down?!!

Is Gronk better than Gonzales?

Before 2007....Brady had better defenses overall IMO.  Now that the injury bug has hit your D....it is fairly weak by pre 2007

OL IMO for NE is also pretty weak by their standards.

Most of the focus tends to be on the skill position players for NE in terms of who they have or haven't had.....but that OL looks to be a issue IMO.

We'll have to see on monday night. I want to see the panthers defense against the Pats no huddle.

Lots of good defenses get beat when they are forced out of their comfort zone. It's not something they've faced before, not at the level the Pats execute it. Can't really prepare for it until they face it.
