The family went to he first game at Clemson.  Prior to that I was a Dolphins fan.  Lived in Florida as a small kid and followed them since I was 6 years old (1980).  But ever since Charlotte got the Panthers I have been a fan ever since.  Like others on here I tried liking both at the beginning but it just doesn't work.  But dang, Marino, Clayton, and Duper were fun to watch.

Im 29 and have been a fan the whole time.  I have been trying remember the name of that weekly newspaper that they had back when Lathon and Greene were Salt and Pepper.  It came once a week and came folded in half.  There was a poster in every issue.  It was pretty awesome, then they switched it to a magazine format and the information was a lot worse, so I quit subscribing.  I want to say it was Panthers Insider, but that doesnt sound right to me.

Been a fan since the inaugural game vs JAX, I was 11 years old.  Before that I was a fan of the Giants because one of my best friends in grade school was Corey Miller's cousin so I would always pull for him.  Also LT was on the G-Men and he was such a bad ass in the early 90's.

now i hate the Giants, fug em.  I have no "second" team like some people try to do.  it's all or nothing with me.

I have always been a fan because I was born in North Carolina and as a kid Peppers and Smith were my favorite players. When we drafted and started Jimmy Clausen I started to have spite to the organizations decisions, though i never lost my faith we'd make it right, and it just so happens at the time i was falling in love with the play of a QB in the college ranks… Cam Newton. Even as a college player and before i ever thought about him being on Carolina, he became my favorite football player, even over NFL players. Then Carolina got the first pick in the draft and from day 1 I wanted Cam Newton to be on the Panthers. But, all i could hear was analyst on ESPN and elsewhere saying Cam Newton isn't ever going to be a passer in the NFL, and they were even saying he couldn't run in the NFL. All i was hearing was Carolina has to take Gabbert, he's so much better than Cam. I told myself that if Carolina took Blaine Gabbert I would just stop watching the NFL as a whole and just watch college. But thank god they took who was at that point my favorite football player, and still is, Cam Newton. So i can say i was a fan before Cam, but when we drafted him my level of love for the team went to a whole new level i thought not possible.

I was actually completely against us drafting Cam and yelled NOOOOOO the second they announced it. It scared the absolute poo out of me. We take a QB #1 over another position and hope and pray he can start immediately as a rookie? the thought of it terrified me. what if he sucks? what then? we will be stuck with Jimmeh picklez and Cam and then what?!

haha read my post we are exact opposites in that aspect hahaha

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
