Is there anything preventing us from being a Super Bowl team?

At least on talk radio, I'm hearing a lot of people talking about a letdown this week. I would have agreed that was possible even a couple of weeks ago, but the way the Panthers have taken care of business against both bad and great teams, I'm finally a believer that this team has turned the corner and the old ways we used to do thinks don't matter. Great QB, Super Bowl defense, great coaching staff (!), fantastic short yardage team. Great mix of veteran leadership and young players that don't know any better.

So let me ask you: looking at the other top teams in the league, is there any that you see having a better all-around team and coaching staff than we do? Which ones? And if you can't think of any that have a significant advantage over us, why do you think this team isn't a Super Bowl team if that's what you think?

We are only guaranteed at least a 7-9 season right now.  Lets see how we do over the next 6 games before proclaiming us a super bowl team.  In addition to other teams, there are still factors like injuries to key players which we have skirted for the most part this year.  Hopefully that continues and Johnson makes it back soon.  Lets make the playoffs first.

Yeah CJ is our 2nd most important player on our D.

Broncos: Not an impressive TEAM at all outside of Peyton Manning

Seahawks: Poor offensive line, would have beaten them if DeAngelo had just secured the ball

Yeah but the problem is the Broncos do have Manning and if we were to play Seattle in the playoffs it'll be in Seattle tho I do believe we can win in Seattle.

two teams scare me.

seattle playing in seattle. i don't like that at all, esp. during the playoffs. if we play them at home again or if we were to play them on a neutral field, i think we win.

the broncos also scare me but our defense should scare them as well. i think that game could be pretty evenly matched, tbh. it's just.  team that if things go wrong for us it could really turn ugly in a hurry.

No team or stadium scares me.  As some pundits have said, our game travels.

I think we can beat Seattle in Seattle and New Orleans in the dome.  Won't be easy, but if we continue to be efficient and have these long sustained drives and keep playing great defense, we can beat anyone anywhere

    • This season only ends one way... We win this Sunday. Bryce is decent. We take back 1st place...   Only to then get our brakes blown off in the last two weeks.
    • Here's one of the most maddening things, that will be shown in full light over the next three weeks. The same people around here that called Darnold a bum and Mayfield a washed up over draft are also the ones saying Bryce is a catastrophe. Yeah, and I've been one who said Bryce wasn't big enough, brave enough or capable enough. I said back in the day that Darnold had a lot of fight in him and got shouted down. And on Mayfield, heck I didn't know, I just knew we had a very, very bad team that was run terribly. But I saw both of those guys go out there and resurrect their careers and be play-off bound since shaking the Carolina clay dust off their cleats. And we sat there and cat called their cars as they pulled out of the parking lot, laughing at what nobodies they were. Over the next three weeks, those two guys may just serve us sh!t sandwiches and then settle down to their just desserts. And then we'll probably let Bryce go off into the realm of other teams. And when that happens, will we see him coming back, better than before and we're left to re-sit this cycle all over again? Same naysayers, same results, same revolving carousel of ponies and pundits?  Will we end up looking like the Temu version of the San Diego Chargers back in the day watching Drew Brees come to fruition in the previously moribund Superdome while we whiff on a Manning pick just to be jilted for Phillip "Always a Bridesmaid" Rivers?
