What Saints Fans are Saying

So, Riley, you're saying if Brees had Cam's body he'd be better and if Cam had Brees' body he'd be worse. Hello captain obvious!

"Of course if I had Drew Brees or Peyton Manning pinpoint accuracy I would just sit back in the pocket and let it fly. Boom, boom, boom.

But I guarantee to you that if Drew Brees was 6' 5 250 with 4.5 speed he'd be like 'check it, check it, check it, okay I'm out of here' and he'd take off running, too."

superbowls are won in the pocket not by running qbs. Colin kaepernick couldn't run all over Baltimore defense like he did GB in divisional round. You have to be able to manipulate defenses from the pocket.

The Panthers offense has to start fast, and score TD's.

The defense will more than show up.

I'm definitely not scared of the Saints.

Offensively we need a repeat of the NE game......long drives that result in points

well the funny thing about it is I guarantee you I love the panthers much more than you do. You probably just jumped on the wagon like everybody else when we picked up cam in 2011. I have lived threw the UPS and downs of the team for my years. All I am simply trying to say is that I think we need some upgrades at certain positions before this team is truly going to compete year in and year out for a division crown and then the super bowl.

All of your posts are hot garbage and you look like a complete fool. Please go back to hating message boards. We won't miss you.

Cam is a far superior passer than Colin Kaepernick.

there are plenty of passers who could run who won superbowls i.e. steve young, john elway.

A running QB doesn't win Super Bowls? John Elway (x2), Steve Young, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger (x2), & Doug Williams say hello.

Cam isn't a pocket passer. He isn't a running QB. He is an athletic QB.

Also, Kaepernick sucks. He had never been half as good as Cam.

ill give you Steve young, but the gtfo with elway he was MOBILE damn near not to the extent of the guys nowadays. Also did you think that those guys are still known to this day for being pocket passers some mobility but still generally manipulated defenses from the pocket.

I truly expect Drew Fleas to be running for his life. The Panthers will apply intense pressure. The only passes we need to worry about folks, are short and sweet. Our front four are licking their chops. We have the momentium, we are physical, we will man handle them. They know it, we know it. We will punch them in the mouth, more than once. Controlled Aggresion, ruthlessly appied!

another reason you should pick up another sport, most of those guys aren't near the athlete that cam is. Yeah yeah sure they could move a little bit but how many of them do you see ripping off 75 yard runs????????????????? How many of those guys did defensive coordinators have to change their scheme and game plan because of their threat to take it to the house 99 yards. WHO CAN DO THAT????????? CAM CANNNNNNN.

he made plays with his legs to win super bowls. john elway was an athletic qb.

Cam runs when he has too not the other way around. we have maybe 2 designed run plays for him. if that per game. Cam goes through his progressions. if its not there he takes off. He scrambles in the pocket to wait for recievers to get open a la big ben.

kaepernick, rg3 would have taken off in this gif. cam juked defenders and threw a rocket pass to smitty for a 25 yard gain

i havent read this entire thread but a lot of comments i have read on saintsreport and from other saints fans are baseless. its like they dont watch the games.

see around these parts we actually watch games and most of us come up with our own thoughts, not what is fed to us by the national media. A lot of us called rg3 and kaepernicks struggles this year. Because they were "system" qbs who relied on their legs to open up the pass. Cam sits in the pocket and goes through his progressions. It was obvious the second half of 2012. What you are seeing in 2013 is a combination of 2011 and the end of 2012.

Cam was given a harder task then any of the young qbs because of his rawness. We are seeing the fruits of this coaching staff wanting him to be a pocket passer first and letting the young man grow into a quality throwing QB.

you can sit there and claim that Cam is a running qb who throws and he can't win a superbowl. But if you watch the games that is the furthest thing from the truth and it makes you sound like an idiot.

qb runs dont win games.. thats about the most obvious poo anyone has ever said..

but qb runs get first downs and make them respect the rush.  and THAT does win games.. colin slapadick isnt a good enough qb to make people worry about his passing game, so they focused on his rushing when the needed to, obviously to great success.

high threat offenses when games, and the occasional superbowl.. But defenses make dynasties.

lmaooooooooo did you see how slow those GB defenders closed on him, if that was today elway would have stood no chance athletes are so much more agile and faster and in better shape in todays game. Cam progression this year I truly believe comes down to shula taking the pressure off of him by using the running so now cam doesn't feel like he has to win the game with every play. Cam I don't believe necessarily was the most raw of all he had been a QB his whole life, I think he had to adjust to the speed of the game his first year and he has done that. His second obstacle was truly learning how to deal with losses in a mature matter. His passing skills needed minor tweaks (ongoing situation) along with the correct coach who knows when to take advantage of when cam is thriving.

    • I used to think Juan was a Zod alt. Agree he's a great poster.
    • Hawks said nah we good and sent him to the shadow realm aka the Wizards. Cold blooded. I mean they're 2-2 in a series with a young up and coming Knicks team largely through 34 year old CJ McCollum. Even if they ultimately lose the series at least they are there and have something to build on. I think Hornets fans are just beaten down and lack the objectivity to assess the situation. They think we are going to get so much worse if and when we finally change gears. Worse how? We've already been a lottery team for years now. We've already been looking to win our first playoff series in about a quarter century. We already can't get past the play in and in failing to do so we have completely embarrassed ourselves twice looking like we don't even belong. Honestly there is absolutely no excuse for a team like the Magic to be more competitive and successful than us in the playoffs. Absolutely disgusting. But that's just me. I was fuging lit when we got the Hornets back in Charlotte but that is old old news. It's time for these boys to get into a playoff series. Enough is enough. If they can't do it for 2026-27 then they need to make wholesale changes regardless.
    • Not one single pick that is asking me why we drafted a guy in the first place. It was a guy we needed and/or a guy that had certain traits making them stand out. Best of all, I feel everyone we drafted are capable of stepping onto the field this year and have a meaningful role (even Kuwatch on special teams). Obviously, nothing is guaranteed but I'm not seeing any huge flags on guys because they're risky projects or massive overreaches.
