Let's not put the Panthers in the Hall of Fame just yet. Carolina's defense was dry roasted by Drew Brees, but you knew Brees was going to get his (30-of-42, 313 YDS, 4 TD, 0 INT). At home, Brees is a point-scoring robot. When the Saints play in the dome, all Brees has to do is breathe on the football and the points reproduce like Tribbles.

He must read The Huddle, because who in the media is putting the Panthers in the HOF. Has a whole team ever gone into the HOF?

Users who post here have more credibility than writers for the BR

Freeman's work has been posted here before. Sometimes well received, sometimes not.

He has a half decent resume', but his career also has some 'interesting' events on record if you care to research him.

I didn't see anything wrong with it really.  I don't like that he just glossed over the comeback win vs the Pats because it wasn't a "key divisional game late in the season" (um, ok? Newton was legitimately great that game), but it's true.  For us to beat these types of teams, we need Cam to be more than just a methodical dink and dunk kind of guy.

It's all part of the growth and maturation process for Cam.  As good as we've been this year, it just seems like we need another year of seasoning and a few more pieces before we'll be able to make REAL noise.  I'm hopeful I'm wrong on that point and we can do damage in the playoffs this year, but just my gut feeling.

The problem with that is this team doesn't give Cam the opportunity to be superman. They made him a game manager. Well a game manager ain't beating Drew Brees in the dome. He's just running the offense taking what the defense gives. That will win you some games when your defense is creating turnovers and shutting the opposing offense out, but not against a well oiled machine like the saints in the dome.

I think this bit...

Newton and the Panthers had an opportunity to make a statement to the rest of the league by beating the Saints. They could have told the league: We're not just a pretty defense. We're not a fad. Our offense can play, too. We're here to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and we're all out of bubble gum.

Instead, it was New Orleans, in a 31-13 drubbing of Carolina at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, that made the statement, putting the Panthers in their place—which is behind the Saints. Nice kitties. Good try. Cute effort.

...might rub a few people the wrong way.

As with every other facet of this team- consistency means everything.

No fanbase? Start winning consistently and they'll be back

No love from the media? Start winning consistently and they'll give you the occasional pass.

No credit from other teams? Beat them on a regular basis and they'll respect you.

Under the radar? 3 or 4 consecutive 9-10 win seasons or better and you'll be on everyone's radar.

Winning cures all. In the meantime the Panthers are maybe the 4th best team in the NFC.

    • Another Guard?? Small ball was just a meme right?????   Again can anyone confirm Kon had more than 2 dunks for the season?? I watched more highlights and saw lots of layups. Did see one thunder dunk tho...   Jeff just needs to finish this off-season with a guard package trade for a PF/C. Call Portland, that's a start!
    • XL treatment is in the top 5 What The Fuccks for the the huddle. It just happens that the 32nd team and 33rd team GMs knew each other very well. Panthers viewed the 5th year option as being worth a late 6th and a trade was made to make XL a 1st rounder.  He had injuries in OTAs, mini camp and TC. Like others had more injuries in season and just kept playing. Half the season was bad BY and dalton. He still had 500 yds, 5 TDs, and like 45 recs.  Just super weird the treatment. BTW people love to focus on the bad plays, but there was only one WR that caught a TD on the AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year, can you guess who that was?? By many accounts the Pats wanted XL badly and had to select Polk instead, there's strong rumors that Polk is either going to be cut or traded for a 2078 7th rounder. Panthers could have easily been in this situation if not for the Bills allowing the trade up. It pays to have friends.... I feel XL will force some fans to plates of raccoon as he develops. (please stay healthy)
